Yamaha has launched the 2025 FZ-X Hybrid in India at ₹1.49 lakh with a Smart Motor Generator system, TFT screen, and Bluetooth connectivity. It now offers better fuel efficiency and advanced features for everyday riders.

Yamaha has launched the much-anticipated 2025 FZ-X Hybrid in India, priced at ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Positioned as the new top-spec variant of the FZ-X lineup, the hybrid version not only brings improved fuel efficiency through its Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system but also introduces a fresh digital interface and added rider convenience features.
The FZ-X Hybrid arrives just in time for the festive season, following strong response to Yamaha’s hybrid technology first seen on the FZ-S. The new variant sports a Matte Titan finish and sits above the standard FZ-X, which remains on sale at ₹1.29 lakh in Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black shades.
Key to the hybrid update is the inclusion of Yamaha’s SMG system, which supports battery-assisted acceleration and silent engine starts. It also features an idling stop-start system, automatically switching off the engine during idle and restarting it quickly when the clutch is engaged. This not only contributes to lower fuel consumption but also enhances city riding comfort with quieter startups.

Alongside the mechanical upgrades, the 2025 FZ-X Hybrid introduces a new 4.2-inch full-colour TFT screen, replacing the previous LCD unit. The console supports Bluetooth connectivity via Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, providing call and SMS alerts, phone battery status, and more. Turn-by-turn navigation powered by Google Maps is integrated directly into the display, showing real-time directions and street details.
Mechanically, the FZ-X Hybrid retains the same 149 cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine delivering 12.4 PS at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a 7-step adjustable Monocross rear shock. Safety equipment includes single-channel ABS and traction control.

The motorcycle also continues to feature a sculpted metal fuel tank with Yamaha’s iconic logomark, a dual-level seat with tuck-and-roll texture for added comfort, and LED lighting elements. With these enhancements, Yamaha aims to offer a practical yet feature-rich commuter motorcycle that appeals to buyers looking for a balance between fuel efficiency and premium feel.
Speaking about the launch, Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, said, “We were thrilled by the overwhelming response to our Hybrid Technology when we introduced it in the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid. Extending this breakthrough to the FZ-X model felt like a natural next step. We are confident that adding hybrid power to the FZ-X model will further boost Yamaha’s appeal, particularly among riders who seek a practical yet premium riding experience. At Yamaha, we continually listen to our customers’ evolving needs, and this latest offering underscores our commitment to innovation. By integrating advanced technology with a deep understanding of rider needs, Yamaha is redefining the future of mobility.”
