The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is set to launch in India on August 12, bringing 446 bhp, 4MATIC+ AWD, and aggressive AMG styling to the luxury coupe segment. It merges performance and elegance in one striking package.

Mercedes-Benz is ready to bring a new dose of performance and luxury to India with the launch of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe, scheduled for August 12, 2025. Introduced globally in December 2023, the CLE 53 serves as a replacement for the outgoing C-Class and E-Class two-door models, merging their legacy into a single, high-performance grand tourer. It’s part of Mercedes-Benz India’s plan to roll out eight new models this year.
The CLE 53 Coupe shares its core design language with the CLE Cabriolet but stands apart with a sportier, fastback-style roofline. This model embraces AMG’s signature styling cues, including a prominent Panamericana grille, sculpted bumpers, wider fenders, functional vents on the bonnet and fenders, a boot lip spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. The car rides on standard 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, with 20-inch units available as an option.
Visually, the CLE 53 cuts a dynamic profile with its LED headlamps, aggressive front and rear design elements, and a sharp piano-black trim that links the two-part LED taillights. The wider track – 58mm at the front and 75mm at the rear – further boosts its road presence and handling capability.

The cabin reflects a blend of luxury and motorsport-inspired elements. While the overall layout is borrowed from the latest C-Class, AMG-specific details make it distinct. These include AMG performance seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, carbon-fibre-style inserts, and dedicated AMG graphics for the digital interfaces. The infotainment setup consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented MBUX touchscreen system. Features like wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a Burmester sound system, wireless phone charging, 64-color ambient lighting, and OTA updates are all standard.
Under the hood, the CLE 53 packs serious performance. It’s powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six engine tuned by AMG, producing 446 bhp and 560 Nm of torque. An overboost function can momentarily bump the torque up to 600 Nm for 12 seconds. The powertrain is assisted by a 48V mild-hybrid system that contributes an extra 22.6 bhp and 205 Nm during strong acceleration.

Power is delivered to all four wheels through the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, mated to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. This setup enables the coupe to sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Braking duties are handled by 370mm front discs with four-piston calipers and 360mm rear discs with single-piston calipers. The AMG Dynamic Select drive modes include Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual, along with a dedicated manual “M” mode for gear shifts via paddle shifters.
With the CLE 300 Cabriolet already priced at around ₹1.15 crore (ex-showroom), the AMG CLE 53 Coupe is expected to cross the ₹1.5 crore mark. Once launched, it will become the first AMG offering in the CLE lineup for the Indian market, taking on rivals like the BMW M2 and Audi RS5 Sportback in the performance coupe space.
