Maruti Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV is set to launch by September 2025 with two battery pack options, up to 500km range, fast charging, advanced features, and Level 2 ADAS.

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, in the coming months. The launch is expected by September 2025, and ahead of its arrival, new technical details about the vehicle have surfaced. The e Vitara will be offered with two battery pack options — 61.1kWh and 48.9kWh — and is set to be one of the brand’s most feature-rich offerings to date.
Fast Charging & Range
The e Vitara will support DC fast charging, with the larger 61.1kWh battery capable of charging from 0 to 80% in around 50 minutes. This puts it on par with upcoming rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV, which offer similar fast-charging capabilities.
The India-spec model will come only in a front-wheel-drive layout, even though the international version offers both FWD and dual-motor AWD. The 61.1kWh version is expected to deliver 171bhp and 192Nm of torque, with an estimated range of over 500km on a single charge. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will be achieved in under 9 seconds. The lower variant, with a 48.9kWh battery, will offer 141bhp with the same torque figure.
Charging Time
The 49kWh and 61kWh LFP battery packs can also be charged using AC chargers. A 7kW single-phase AC charger will take around 9 hours and 6.5 hours respectively for a full charge from 10% to 100%. Opting for an 11kW three-phase AC charger reduces charging time to 4.5 hours and 5.5 hours, respectively.

It’s important to note that these times are under optimal conditions. Real-world performance can vary based on climate, battery age, and local conditions. For example, in colder regions, the charging duration might be longer.
Variants & Performance
The e Vitara will be launched in two FWD single-motor variants. The entry-level model delivers 142hp (105.8kW) and 192.5Nm of torque from the 49kWh battery, while the top-end variant produces 172hp (128kW) with the same torque output, powered by the 61kWh battery.
The SUV will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds for the base model and 8.7 seconds for the higher-spec variant. Both versions will have a top speed of 150 km/h. The claimed range is expected to be over 400km for the base and 500+km for the top variant. Final range figures will be revealed closer to the launch.
Features & Safety

The electric SUV will be sold via the NEXA dealership network. It will be loaded with features such as a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, sunroof, and a digital driver display. Additional comforts include 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and reclining rear seats.

On the safety front, the e Vitara is equipped with seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, 360-degree camera, blind spot detection, tyre pressure monitoring system, and front and rear parking sensors. It also boasts Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and auto high-beam.

Colour Options
The e Vitara will be available in 10 colours, including six single-tone and four dual-tone options. Single-tone choices include Bluish Black, Next Blue, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, and Opulent Red. The dual-tone range adds black roofs to colours like Opulent Red, Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, and Arctic White.
