Lava appears ready to expand its Shark lineup with a 5G model, following the launch of the Lava Shark 4G earlier this year. New leaks have surfaced online, revealing design renders, colour options, and some key specifications of the upcoming Lava Shark 5G. While an official launch date is yet to be confirmed, the device is expected to debut in India soon.

According to a recent report from YTECHB, marketing images of the Lava Shark 5G have been shared, showing the phone in two colour options—blue and gold—similar to the 4G model. However, the 5G version adds a “5G” logo on the rear panel next to the Lava branding.

The rear design of the Shark 5G features a square camera island with two circular camera cutouts and a smaller circular LED flash placed next to them. The power button and volume controls are located on the right side of the device.

The Lava Shark 5G is believed to carry the model number LXX516, as seen on a Geekbench listing. The device scored 742 in single-core and 1,911 in multi-core performance tests. The listing also reveals that the smartphone could be powered by the Unisoc T765 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM, and is likely to run Android 15 out of the box. It may offer 64GB of internal storage.

In terms of optics, the Lava Shark 5G is expected to feature a 13-megapixel primary rear camera, a downgrade from the 50-megapixel main sensor seen on the 4G variant.

To recap, the Lava Shark 4G was launched in India at Rs. 6,999 with a single 4GB + 64GB variant. It is powered by a Unisoc T606 processor and packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The phone is also IP54-rated for dust and splash resistance. It features a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs Android 14.

With the 5G model, Lava seems to be focusing on expanding connectivity options while maintaining a budget-friendly profile. We’ll share more details as soon as they become available.
