Jaguar Type 00 EV concept to debut in India on June 14. The electric grand tourer will be showcased in Mumbai as part of its global tour ahead of a 2026 launch, featuring bold design, 770 km range, and Jaguar’s new EV platform.

Jaguar is all set to showcase its Type 00 electric grand tourer concept in India for the first time on June 14, 2025. The unveiling will take place at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai as part of the concept’s global tour, which has already seen stops in Miami, Paris, London, and Monaco. The tour will continue with future displays in Munich and Tokyo, highlighting Jaguar’s entry into the luxury electric vehicle segment in key markets, including India.
The Type 00 is Jaguar’s first electric concept under its new identity as a fully-electric luxury car brand. It reflects the company’s bold shift in design and technology and introduces a fresh styling language called ‘Exuberant Modernism’. The concept also follows Jaguar’s ‘Copy Nothing’ philosophy, making it distinct from other electric vehicles.
A New Design Direction
The Jaguar Type 00 EV concept features classic grand tourer proportions with a long bonnet, a rear-set cabin, and a sleek roofline. However, its design is a major departure from traditional Jaguar styling. It adopts a more sculpted, boxy silhouette while maintaining an elegant coupe-like rear. The front end gets a bold look with narrow lighting units, functional air vents, and a signature ‘Device Mark’. A vertical front grille and unique light signatures define the front, giving it a modern yet unconventional appearance.

One of the standout features is the butterfly-style doors and the pantograph rear hatch, which replaces a traditional rear windshield. This design not only adds to the vehicle’s futuristic appeal but also offers practical access to rear storage. At the rear, a wide diffuser and integrated tail lights enhance the car’s visual presence.

Flush surfaces, flared fenders, and sharp body lines dominate the side profile. A brass trim on the front fender conceals the side-view camera and carries Jaguar’s updated leaper logo. The concept rides on large 23-inch wheels milled from a single piece of aluminium, featuring a new ‘double J’ roundel in place of the classic Growler emblem.

A Focus on Personalised Luxury

Inside, the Type 00 concept offers a minimalist cabin with a high center console that divides the front seats. The interior is designed around simplicity and offers two large fold-away displays. Jaguar has introduced a new personalization feature with three design themes or ‘totems’: Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster. These themes allow users to adjust screen graphics, ambient lighting, and various interior elements to create a tailored in-cabin experience.

A body-coloured glazed roof panel adds natural light to the cabin and contributes to the concept’s monolithic exterior design.

Battery, Range, and Platform
Jaguar has not yet shared detailed specifications of the battery or drivetrain. However, the brand has confirmed that the production model will deliver an estimated range of 770 km on a single charge. With fast charging, it can reportedly gain up to 321 km of range in just 10 minutes.
The Type 00 concept is built on Jaguar’s all-new JEA platform — a dedicated electric architecture that will underpin all future EVs from the brand. Production of the Type 00 is expected to begin by late 2025, with a global market launch scheduled for 2026.
