Tata Harrier EV India Launch Confirmed for June 3

Tata Motors has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming electric SUV, the Harrier EV. The SUV will go on sale in India on June 3, marking Tata’s latest push in the electric vehicle segment.

The Harrier EV is built on Tata’s new acti.ev+ architecture, which is a modified version of the OMEGA platform originally derived from Land Rover’s D8. This new EV-specific setup has been developed in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and is designed to accommodate both single-motor and dual-motor powertrains.

While the full technical details are still under wraps, Tata has previously confirmed that the dual-motor variant will feature an all-wheel-drive layout. The company also claims the EV will deliver 500Nm of torque and a real-world driving range of up to 500km, though it hasn’t clarified if these numbers apply across the entire range or specific variants.

Tata first showcased the production-ready Harrier EV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in early 2025. Since then, the brand has gradually released teaser visuals and updates, keeping interest alive in the lead-up to the official launch. The EV is expected to be positioned above the Nexon EV in Tata’s electric lineup.

When talking about design, Harrier EV shares its basic shape and styling with the facelifted diesel Harrier, but there are some key design differences to set it apart. At the front, the SUV gets a sealed grille, a full-width LED light bar, and a revised bumper with vertical slats and a chrome-accented air intake — which also houses the radar module for ADAS.

Other visual highlights include turbine-style aero wheels (expected to be 17- to 19-inch), silver body cladding, and unique EV badges on the doors and tailgate. The rear also features a connected LED light strip and vertical fog lamp housings.

Inside, the Harrier EV will mirror the layout of its ICE counterpart. It will offer a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, and a four-spoke steering wheel. Tata’s Arcade.ev software platform will likely be included, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Premium features such as power-adjustable ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a JBL sound system will be part of the package. The EV will also support connected car functions, Level 2 ADAS, over-the-air updates, and cloud-based telematics.

On the charging front, the Harrier EV will support both vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, making it more versatile.

While the company hasn’t announced prices yet, the Harrier EV is expected to be priced between ₹25 lakh and ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom). This would place it above the Nexon EV and directly in competition with upcoming models like the Mahindra XEV 9e.

With the Harrier EV, Tata continues to expand its electric portfolio, which already includes the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, and the recently showcased Curvv EV. The Sierra EV is also expected to join the lineup in the near future.
