Toyota Unveils Striking New Wave Maker Blue Color for 2026 TRD Pro Lineup

Toyota is once again turning heads with the announcement of its latest TRD Pro-exclusive color—Wave Maker—set to debut with the 2026 model year lineup. This bold and eye-catching shade of blue will be offered on the 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia TRD Pro models, continuing the brand’s tradition of launching distinctive colors that set each year’s TRD Pro models apart.

A Tradition of Bold TRD Pro Colors

Wave Maker is the eleventh color in a long line of standout TRD Pro hues, a tradition that began in 2015 with the launch of the fiery Inferno. Over the years, Toyota has explored a variety of adventurous tones—from earthy Mudbath to rugged Terra—each reflecting a unique spirit of exploration. Now, Wave Maker brings a cool, glacial energy to the lineup.

Developed by Toyota’s CALTY Design Team

The new color was designed by Toyota’s CALTY Design Research team, which operates out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. According to Benjamin Jimenez, General Manager at CALTY, Wave Maker reflects a shift from traditional natural palettes to something more futuristic and untamed.

“We had a few years of warm natural hues inspired by traditional landscapes like Terra and Mudbath as signature colors. With Wave Maker, we were inspired by unexplored areas of adventure including extreme territory and even beyond earth,” says Benjamin Jimenez, general manager at CALTY’s Ann Arbor location. “Wave Maker expresses an elemental spirit that evokes images of glacial depths and the thrill of new frontiers.”

It’s designed for those who see their vehicle as more than just transportation, but an extension of their adventurous lifestyle.
