Suzuki has begun production of its first electric scooter, the e-Access, at its Gurugram plant. Launch expected soon. Features include a 95 km range, 4.1 kW motor, regenerative braking, ride modes, and fast charging.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has officially entered the electric mobility space with its first electric scooter, the e-Access. After being showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, the scooter has now moved to the production phase. The first unit of the Suzuki e-Access recently rolled out from the company’s manufacturing facility in Gurgaon, Haryana, marking a significant milestone for Suzuki’s EV journey in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Suzuki e-Access: Brand’s First Electric Scooter for India
Unveiled earlier this year, the Suzuki e-Access is the brand’s first electric scooter developed for Indian roads. Built with a focus on daily urban commuting, Suzuki says the e-Access is designed to be reliable, durable, and efficient. At the core of this EV is the brand’s new e-Technology platform, featuring a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Suzuki claims the battery has passed several rigorous tests, including water submersion, extreme temperatures, impact, vibration, drop, puncture, and motor bench tests.
Packed with Features and Technology
The e-Access will come equipped with Suzuki’s SDMS-e (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector – electric), offering multiple ride modes such as Eco Mode, Ride Mode A, Ride Mode B, and a Reverse Mode. The scooter also supports regenerative braking and uses a belt-drive system for power delivery to the rear wheel, aimed at reducing noise and requiring minimal maintenance.
Visually, the e-Access sports a sleeker and sharper design compared to its petrol-powered sibling, the Access 125. The front features a sculpted apron with a vertical LED DRL and integrated indicators. The full-LED headlamp unit gives it a modern appearance, while the dual-tone body panels and contrasting seat colours add a premium touch. A fully digital TFT instrument cluster is part of the setup, expected to support smartphone connectivity and other digital functions.

Powertrain, Range and Charging Details
Powering the scooter is a 3.07 kWh LFP battery pack paired with a 4.1 kW electric motor that delivers 15 Nm of torque. Suzuki claims a top speed of 71 km/h and a real-world range of up to 95 km on a single charge. The scooter runs on 12-inch wheels at both ends and gets a front disc brake for better stopping power.
Charging options include both portable and fast charging. The portable charger takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes to reach 80% and 6 hours and 42 minutes for a full charge. With a fast charger, 80% can be achieved in just 1 hour and 12 minutes, while a complete charge takes around 2 hours and 12 minutes.

Launch Timeline and Rivals
While Suzuki has not confirmed the launch date, production has already started, hinting that the launch is just around the corner. The e-Access will be offered in three colour choices – Metallic Mat Black/Bordeaux, Pearl Grace White, and Pearl Jade Green.
Once launched, the e-Access will compete in the growing electric scooter segment against the likes of Ather Rizta, Ola S1, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Honda Activa Electric. While pricing is yet to be revealed, it is expected to be in the ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) range, in line with its rivals.
