Lava Shark 5G launched at Rs. 7,999 with 6.75-inch 90Hz display, UNISOC T765 chip, 5000mAh battery, Android 15, and stylish design. Available now via Lava e-store and retail outlets.

Lava has officially launched its latest budget 5G smartphone, the Lava Shark 5G, expanding its new ‘Shark series’. With competitive specifications and a striking design, the Shark 5G aims to grab attention in the under-Rs. 10,000 smartphone category. Priced at Rs. 7,999, the device offers 5G connectivity and a clean Android experience, making it one of the most affordable 5G phones currently available in the market.
The Shark 5G comes with a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD screen featuring a 90Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals compared to standard 60Hz displays. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the UNISOC T765 chipset, built on a 6nm process. It includes two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.1GHz, alongside the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for handling graphics.
In terms of memory, the device includes 4GB of RAM, paired with 64GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 512GB. It also supports virtual RAM expansion, allowing users to add an extra 4GB of virtual memory for enhanced multitasking. The Shark 5G runs Android 15 out of the box and continues Lava’s tradition of offering clean software without bloatware.
One of the standout features is its design. The phone sports a glossy back panel that resembles the iPhone 16, a design move that will likely appeal to budget-conscious buyers who appreciate premium aesthetics. Lava has stated that the Shark 5G is aimed at users who want performance and style at an accessible price.
Camera-wise, the device includes a 13MP rear camera for everyday photography, along with a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and light splashes.
Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port. It packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, although it comes bundled with a 10W charger in the box.
The Lava Shark 5G is available in Stellar Gold and Stellar Blue colour options and is now on sale across Lava’s e-store and retail outlets starting May 23. Buyers of the phone will also receive free doorstep service as part of the company’s after-sales support.
With its affordable pricing, solid hardware, and modern design, the Lava Shark 5G stands out in the budget 5G smartphone segment and joins rivals like the Redmi A4 5G and Redmi 14C 5G in offering next-gen connectivity under Rs. 10,000.
