Tata Harrier EV, launching June 3, 2025, will feature all-wheel drive and advanced tech including Level 2 ADAS. A 500+ km range, V2L, and Summon Mode are expected on higher variants.

The Tata Harrier EV is all set to make its official entry into the Indian market on June 3, 2025. Just days before its launch, the electric SUV has been spotted completely undisguised during high-speed tests on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Seen in a white paint finish with a red number plate and Maharashtra registration, the test mule confirms that the vehicle is being developed at Tata’s Pune plant, alongside the ICE-powered Harrier.
Specifications
The Harrier EV will be Tata’s first electric SUV to feature an all-wheel-drive system, referred to as Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) by the brand. It will come with dual electric motors—one mounted on each axle—delivering an expected torque output of around 500 Nm. The vehicle is based on Tata’s acti.ev Gen 2 platform and is likely to offer a range of over 500 km on a single charge.
Although Tata hasn’t confirmed the battery specs, the Harrier EV is expected to come with a pack in the 60–75 kWh range. The electric SUV is also likely to support multiple drive modes for different terrains such as snow, rain, and off-road, improving its versatility.
Higher variants of the Harrier EV will offer features like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. Additionally, Tata is equipping it with ‘Summon Mode’, which will allow the SUV to self-park. A multi-link rear suspension system will be used instead of the torsion beam setup found in the ICE model, likely enhancing comfort and handling.
Exterior Highlights
While the overall silhouette remains similar to the ICE version, the Harrier EV carries EV-specific design updates. The front grille is fully enclosed and finished in body color. It retains the familiar split headlamp setup and adds LED sequential indicators. A silver-finished grille line connects the DRLs, while the bumpers and skid plates receive subtle revisions. The alloy wheels appear to be the same as those showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The charging port is placed on the right side near the rear wheel.
