2026 BMW M2 CS debuts with 523 hp, upgraded chassis, lighter body, and performance-focused features inspired by motorsport, marking a new benchmark in compact sports cars.
BMW has officially unveiled the new 2026 M2 CS, the most performance-focused version of its compact coupe yet. With increased power, reduced weight, and track-ready upgrades, the M2 CS continues BMW M’s tradition of delivering high-performance special editions.
More Power, Faster Acceleration
The new M2 CS gets a significant power bump from its 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder engine. Now producing 523 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, it delivers 50 hp and 36 lb-ft more than the standard M2. The engine is paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission and sends power to the rear wheels. As a result, the M2 CS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 302 km/h with the M Driver’s Package.
Lighter, Tighter, and Built for the Track
BMW has reduced the M2 CS’s weight by 44 kg compared to the standard M2 with automatic transmission. This was achieved by using lightweight materials such as carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) for the roof, rear diffuser, front splitter, and trunk lid with a built-in ducktail spoiler. Forged alloy wheels and carbon interior components further trim weight while boosting performance and visual appeal.
The suspension setup has also been fine-tuned with CS-specific tuning of the Adaptive M Suspension, M Servotronic steering, and the M Sport differential. The chassis has been lowered by 8 mm, and the M Dynamic Mode settings have been optimized for more precise handling. Standard M Compound brakes offer strong stopping power, while M Carbon ceramic brakes are available for more serious track use.

Performance-Inspired Exterior and Interior
The 2026 M2 CS features a distinctive exterior with matte black elements, CS-specific aerodynamics, and lightweight forged wheels (19 inches front, 20 inches rear). The wheels come in a matte Gold Bronze finish and are wrapped in high-performance tires. Four exterior colours are available, including Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, Portimao Blue, and BMW Individual Velvet Blue for an added cost.
Inside, the cabin is clearly track-focused. Standard heated M Carbon bucket seats with Merino leather and M-colour accents provide support and save weight. The Alcantara-wrapped M steering wheel, carbon trim, and illuminated “CS” logos throughout the interior add to the performance feel. The carbon structure on the door panels also lights up with ambient lighting.

Tech and Convenience
Despite being a hardcore performance machine, the M2 CS doesn’t compromise on modern tech. It comes with BMW’s latest Operating System 8.5 and a fully digital cockpit featuring a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. Climate controls are now digital and can be accessed via touchscreen or voice. Other standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Harman Kardon sound system, Comfort Access, and a head-up display.
