Tata Motors gears up for the launch of the Harrier EV on June 3. A new teaser shows the electric SUV attempting to climb a mountain, highlighting its off-road capabilities and dual-motor AWD setup.

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Harrier EV in India on June 3, 2025, and in the run-up to its debut, the company has released a fresh teaser highlighting the SUV’s off-road capabilities. The video shows the Harrier EV attempting to scale a rugged mountain, underlining Tata’s positioning of the model as a performance-ready electric SUV.

First revealed in its production-ready form at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, the Harrier EV has since been showcased to dealers and the media at Tata’s manufacturing facility. Built on the new ‘acti.ev+’ platform, an EV-specific version of the OMEGA ARC architecture, the electric Harrier promises a flat floor and a more spacious interior layout than its ICE counterpart.

While Tata Motors has not revealed the official specifications yet, the Harrier EV is expected to be equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a multi-link rear suspension for enhanced off-road and on-road performance. The battery is expected to be in the 75kWh range, offering an estimated driving range of over 500km on a single charge.

The Harrier EV will be the first all-electric SUV from Tata to feature a quad-wheel drive (QWD) system. The teaser video also reveals rotary drive selectors and multiple driving modes like Rock, Mud, Sport, and Eco, all of which hint at the vehicle’s off-road credentials.

Design-wise, the Harrier EV retains the overall silhouette of its diesel-powered sibling but comes with distinctive elements like a closed-off front grille, redesigned alloy wheels, and EV-specific badging on the tailgate.
Inside, the electric SUV shares much of its layout with the recently unveiled Tata Curvv EV. It includes premium features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a power-operated tailgate, and ambient lighting. A panoramic sunroof and JBL 10-speaker audio system further enhance the in-cabin experience.

In terms of tech, the Harrier EV will also offer the ‘Summon’ mode that allows the vehicle to move forward or backward via the key fob, along with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functions to power appliances or even charge other EVs.
Safety features include 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and automatic high beam.
Expected to be priced between ₹24 lakh and ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tata Harrier EV will become the flagship electric offering in Tata’s EV portfolio, which already includes the Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev. Once launched, it will take on rivals like the Mahindra BE 6 and the Mahindra XEV 9e.
