Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Pad 2 tablet will launch in India on June 18, including a Wi-Fi + Cellular variant for the first time in the country. The company has also revealed that the device will support stylus input and is expected to be priced under Rs. 20,000, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.
What to Expect from Redmi Pad 2
The Redmi Pad 2 has already been launched in several international markets, offering notable upgrades over its predecessor. The tablet sports a large 11-inch 2.5K LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of peak brightness, promising sharp and smooth visuals ideal for multimedia and casual productivity.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, which delivers improved performance for everyday use and light gaming compared to the original Redmi Pad’s Helio G99 chipset. The tablet supports up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with the option to expand storage via microSD card.

Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, enhancing the multimedia experience. Xiaomi has also included a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature missing from the first-generation Redmi Pad.
On the camera front, the Redmi Pad 2 features an 8MP rear camera similar to the previous model, while the front camera has been slightly downgraded to 5MP. The device runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2.0 out of the box, a significant update from the Android 12-based MIUI 13 on the original.
