Tata Motors is preparing for a major comeback of the iconic Sierra nameplate, and this time it’s bringing an all-new, tech-laden cabin to the table. Spy images have now confirmed that the upcoming Tata Sierra and its EV counterpart will feature a triple-screen dashboard layout — a first for any Tata vehicle. The interior reveal marks a big shift in the brand’s design language and technology focus as it aims to solidify its place in the premium SUV space.

Triple-Screen Layout Confirmed

Leaked images of the Tata Sierra test mule show a near-production interior featuring three integrated displays: a digital driver’s display, a central infotainment screen, and a separate passenger-side screen. This setup follows what was earlier showcased on the Sierra EV concept at the 2025 Auto Expo, but now it appears ready for launch. All three screens are expected to measure 12.3 inches each.

The third passenger-facing screen sets the Sierra apart in its segment. It is expected to offer in-car entertainment, possibly video conferencing, gaming, and app support — features that will appeal to modern, tech-oriented buyers. There could also be a dedicated in-car camera to support these functionalities.

This puts the Sierra in line with rivals like the Mahindra XEV 9e and Kia Syros, which also feature similar screen layouts, although the Syros offers a much smaller HVAC-only screen in the center.

Cabin Details and Features

The cabin setup reflects a clear upgrade over Tata’s current interiors. Alongside the triple screens, the Sierra will offer a dual-tone dashboard, a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo (similar to what’s seen on the Harrier and Safari), ambient lighting, and interior mood strips. Other features include a Harman sound system, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and a panoramic sunroof.

From a safety standpoint, the Sierra is expected to include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 ADAS, keeping it competitive in the premium SUV space.

ICE and EV Versions – Launch Timeline

Both ICE and EV versions of the Sierra are slated to launch in the current financial year, with the electric variant expected to arrive first. A near-production prototype was showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, and several test mules have been spotted since, though interior details remained hidden until now.

The electric Sierra is likely to share its underpinnings with the newly launched Harrier EV and could come with 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options. A dual-motor AWD layout (called QWD by Tata) with up to 504Nm of torque is expected, offering robust off-road capability and range.

The ICE-powered Sierra, on the other hand, will reportedly feature Tata’s upcoming 1.5L TGDi turbo petrol and Stellantis-sourced 2.0L diesel engines. Both engine options are expected to come with manual and automatic transmission choices.

Exterior Design – Retro with a Modern Twist

The updated Sierra retains design cues from the original, including its boxy profile and signature glass area, albeit revised to meet modern safety norms. The front fascia features sleek LED DRLs, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and a metal skid plate, giving it a bold road presence. The side profile includes a floating roof and stylish alloy wheels, while the rear gets a connected LED tail light and Sierra badging beneath the Tata logo.
