Ducati Scrambler 1100 discontinued in India

Ducati has discontinued the Scrambler 1100 in India, likely due to Euro 5+ emission norms and its aging 1079cc L-twin engine. The model has been delisted from the brand’s Indian website.

Ducati Scrambler 1100 discontinued in India

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 has officially exited the Indian market, with the model recently being delisted from the company’s website. While there’s been no formal statement from Ducati India, the move is likely in response to the increasingly stringent Euro 5+ and BS6.2 emission regulations, which the Scrambler 1100’s aging engine does not comply with.

First launched in India in 2018, the Scrambler 1100 was Ducati’s larger-capacity scrambler offering. However, its 1079cc L-twin engine has roots dating back to 2009, originally seen in the Hypermotard and Monster 1100. Despite updates like ride-by-wire technology, rider modes, and safety aids, the powertrain had largely become outdated by modern standards.

The engine produced 86hp at 7,500rpm and 88Nm of torque at 4,750rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and equipped with a slip and assist clutch. The bike also came with fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and a robust braking setup featuring a 320mm disc with a four-piston caliper up front, and a 245mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear.

Priced between ₹13.40 lakh and ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom), the Scrambler 1100 always sat in a unique position in Ducati’s lineup. While it didn’t face direct rivals, its pricing placed it against more performance-oriented machines, which often offered better value in terms of power and features. This, combined with its lifestyle-focused appeal, limited its reach in the Indian market compared to the more popular 803cc Scrambler models.

The discontinuation also narrows Ducati’s Scrambler lineup in India, which now only includes the 803cc variants. Whether Ducati plans to introduce an updated version of the 1100 that complies with the latest emission norms remains unclear at this point.

While the model has been removed from the Indian website, a confirmation regarding its global future is awaited. Ducati enthusiasts will now have to look to the 803cc range for a Scrambler experience, at least until an announcement is made about any potential replacement or refreshed variant for the 1100.
