The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has created a new benchmark in India’s compact sedan segment by becoming the first sedan in the country to receive a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP crash test protocol. This milestone underlines the company’s growing focus on vehicle safety in a market where SUVs have typically dominated safety headlines.

High Crash-Test Scores in Both Adult and Child Occupant Protection

In the adult occupant protection category, the Dzire scored an impressive 29.46 out of 32, while in the child occupant category it secured 41.57 out of 49. These scores place it among the top-performing cars in terms of rear-seat safety and all-round protection.

“I am also pleased to see that Maruti Suzuki, a mass market manufacturer, has fast-paced adoption of 6 airbags as standard across all variants of models covering all the segments. Six airbags from an entry hatchback to a premium SUV, is a significant stride by Maruti Suzuki towards vehicle safety.
