Citroen C3 Sport Edition Launched at ₹9.57 Lakh

Citroën India has launched a new limited-run version of its C3 hatchback, called the C3 Sport Edition, with prices starting at ₹9.57 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition variant commands a premium of ₹21,000 over the standard Shine Turbo trims and is offered exclusively with the turbocharged petrol engine options.

The C3 Sport Edition introduces a series of cosmetic changes aimed at enhancing the sporty character of the hatchback. On the outside, the model gets new ‘SPORT’ decals that extend from the front bumper across the bonnet and continue onto the roof. Additional graphics have been applied to the doors and body panels, while ‘Sport Edition’ badging has been added to the front doors to further distinguish this variant from the regular trims. One of the key highlights is the addition of a new Garnet Red exterior paint scheme, introduced for the first time on the C3 range, adding to the variant’s exclusivity.

Inside the cabin, Citroën has focused on creating a more dynamic and youthful environment. The Sport Edition features custom sport-themed seat covers, matching carpet mats, seatbelt cushions, and a brushed metal pedal kit. The interior is finished in a contrast-rich dark theme to align with the edition’s overall visual identity. Ambient cabin lighting has also been added to enhance the in-cabin experience.

In terms of equipment, the features remain identical to the Shine Turbo variants. However, Citroën is offering an optional Tech Kit for an additional ₹15,000. This kit includes a dashcam and a wireless smartphone charger, available as accessories across all variants of the Sport Edition.

Mechanically, there are no changes. The C3 Sport Edition continues to use the familiar 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110 PS and 205 Nm of peak torque when paired with the 6-speed automatic gearbox. With the 6-speed manual transmission, the engine delivers 110 PS and 190 Nm of torque. The claimed 0-100 kmph sprint time remains at 10 seconds, making it one of the quickest cars in its segment. Notably, while many rivals at this price point rely on AMTs, the C3 offers a proper torque converter automatic, adding to its value proposition.

Here’s how the pricing compares between the standard Shine Turbo variants and the newly launched Sport Edition:

Shine Turbo Dual Tone MT₹9.36 lakh₹9.57 lakh₹21,000
Shine Turbo AT₹10.00 lakh₹10.21 lakh₹21,000

The standard Citroën C3 lineup also includes a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 82 PS and 115 Nm of torque, and comes mated to a manual transmission. However, this motor is not available with the Sport Edition — which is reserved exclusively for the more powerful turbo-petrol variants.
