Honda has teased an upcoming special edition of the City sedan in India. Expected to include cosmetic enhancements inside and out, the new variant is likely to offer a sportier look and feel. Launch expected soon.

Honda is gearing up to introduce a new special edition of its popular City sedan in India, as hinted by a recent teaser shared on the brand’s social media platforms. The teaser image, accompanied by the caption “Fasten your seatbelts and gear up for a sportier life. Stay Tuned!”, suggests the arrival of a sportier-looking version of the City, likely to be positioned on the top-end ZX variant.
While the company hasn’t officially confirmed the name or full details, it’s expected that this upcoming edition will be called the Honda City Sport Edition. Much like the recently introduced Elevate Dark Edition, this new City variant is likely to feature cosmetic upgrades designed to enhance its sporty appeal, without any mechanical changes.

Visually, the City Sport Edition could receive a black accents across various exterior elements. This might include black front and rear bumper inserts, black-painted ORVMs, a gloss black grille, shark fin antenna, and a subtle boot lip spoiler. A new or darker finish for the 16-inch alloy wheels may also be on offer, further adding to its aggressive look.
Inside the cabin, sporty touches are also expected. Honda may introduce red accents on the dashboard, centre console, and door trims, along with red stitching on the steering wheel, gear lever, and seat upholstery. These updates would be in line with the sport-themed styling seen in other limited edition models from the brand.

Under the hood, the special edition will most likely retain the same powertrain as the regular City. This includes the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine with VTEC, delivering 120 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque, available with either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. No changes in performance or fuel efficiency are expected.
With the teaser now live, Honda is likely to reveal the new City special edition in the coming days. Stay tuned for the full launch details and pricing.
