Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi A5 in India, offering budget-conscious consumers a feature-packed smartphone starting at just Rs 6,499. Following the Redmi A4’s release in late 2024, the A5 enters the Indian market with several notable updates, though it surprisingly comes with a slightly less powerful chipset than its predecessor.

The Redmi A5 is powered by the UNISOC T7250 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, paired with a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. While this marks a shift from the more robust Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip seen in the Redmi A4, it still delivers decent performance for everyday use. The phone runs on Android 15 (Go Edition), ensuring a streamlined and secure software experience.

The Redmi A5 is equipped with a 6.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate for enhanced smoothness and responsiveness.
