Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 confirmed with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 4.01-inch external display, 5165mAh battery, Leica cameras, and a redesigned hinge with ultra-tough flexible glass.

Xiaomi has officially teased the design and key specifications of its upcoming foldable — the MIX Flip 2 — ahead of its launch in China on June 26. Positioned as a sleek and powerful upgrade over its predecessor, the new MIX Flip 2 will come with meaningful hardware changes, a fresh hinge design, and improved camera optics.
In the official images shared by the brand, the MIX Flip 2 is shown in black, gold, purple, and cyan finishes, each sporting a stylish and refined look. Xiaomi confirms that the device will feature a three-sided equal-depth micro-curved inner display and a frosted metal middle frame, along with a re-engineered hinge mechanism that helps deliver an exceptionally flat screen when unfolded.

Under the hood, the MIX Flip 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, promising flagship-level performance. Backing this is a 5165mAh battery, which is notably large for a flip-style foldable and should offer extended usage on a single charge.
One of the highlights is the new 4.01-inch external display, which Xiaomi describes as a multi-function large screen. This outer display allows for quick access to notifications, camera previews, and other essential features without opening the device — a practical addition for users on the go.
The camera setup has also seen changes. The MIX Flip 2 features Leica-branded optics, with a Summilux main lens offering an f/1.7 aperture and 23mm focal length, paired with a secondary ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 14mm focal length). This confirms a shift away from the telephoto sensor seen on the original MIX Flip, aiming for a broader field of view instead.

In terms of dimensions, the phone will be just 7.57mm thick when unfolded, making it slightly thinner than the 7.8mm profile of its predecessor. It weighs 199g, which is only marginally heavier by 7 grams, indicating a balance between performance upgrades and handling comfort.

Another standout feature of the MIX Flip 2 is its redesigned hinge system, which plays a big role in both durability and display quality. Xiaomi has equipped it with its latest “keel” hinge structure, claimed to be the first in the industry to use a three-level connecting rod and four floating plates. This new design helps improve drop resistance while ensuring the inner screen stays incredibly flat. The foldable display itself uses ultra-tough 50μm flexible glass, which Xiaomi says results in creases that are barely noticeable—even after 200,000 folds. The average crease depth remains under 50μm, roughly half the thickness of an A4 paper sheet, offering a nearly seamless viewing experience over long-term use.
