Nothing Gallery 2.0 introduces fast, on-device photo and video editing with exclusive tools, AI sorting, and full privacy—now rolling out to Nothing phone users.
Nothing has introduced a major update to its native Nothing Gallery app, adding a built-in photo and video editor that enhances the overall media experience for Nothing phone users. The new feature expands on the app that was first launched alongside Nothing OS 3.0 at the end of last year.
The update brings a host of editing tools that cover both basic and advanced needs. For photos, users now get six options for cropping and rotation, along with twelve parameters for precise colour grading. The editor also includes ten custom filters designed by Nothing, each with adjustable intensity from 0 to 100. On the video side, users can trim clips, adjust volume, and fine-tune the speed of slow-motion videos—all directly within the app.
Unlike third-party gallery apps that aim for universal compatibility but lack optimization, Nothing Gallery is built specifically for the company’s hardware and camera systems. This tight integration results in faster performance, with over 20% quicker transitions from the camera to the gallery and up to 25% faster image processing. There are no ads, no unnecessary pop-ups, and no pressure to upgrade or subscribe.
The app also adds intelligent features like AI photo categorisation and a cohesive visual experience that aligns with Nothing’s design language. Every aspect—from typography and icons to animations—feels consistent with the rest of the interface. A highlight of the update is the new Image Cutout tool, powered by the Dot Engine animation, which allows users to isolate subjects with a smooth long-press interaction.

With this release, Nothing takes a step further by allowing users to fine-tune key image settings such as contrast, white balance, and tone curve at full resolution. The editing process avoids aggressive compression, ensuring minimal quality loss. All processing happens locally on the device, and metadata remains untouched—no information is stripped or hidden after edits. Subtle haptic feedback also enhances the precision of each adjustment.
Support for Ultra XDR images is another standout feature. While most editing apps flatten HDR content, Nothing’s editor preserves it using embedded gain maps in JPEG files. This ensures users see the full range of detail exactly as captured.
Privacy remains a priority. The editor requires no cloud uploads, account sign-ins, or subscriptions. Every edit stays on the device, delivering a secure and high-fidelity editing experience.
The Nothing Gallery 2.0 update is now rolling out via the Google Play Store. According to the company, more editing tools and features are expected to arrive in future updates, continuing to refine the experience for Nothing phone users.
