vivo has teased the launch of its premium foldable, the X Fold5, in India. The phone features Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, IPX9 water resistance, a 6000mAh battery, and a durable hinge tested for 600,000 folds.

vivo is gearing up to introduce its flagship foldable smartphone — the vivo X Fold5 — in India, just days after its official unveiling in China. The company has now started teasing the launch across its Indian platforms, following a similar campaign for the vivo X200 FE.
The X Fold5 is set to arrive with a range of premium specifications, focusing on both power and durability. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a top-tier processor built for high performance, especially in multitasking and gaming scenarios.
One of the key highlights of the device is its robust build. vivo claims the phone features IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance, IP5X dust protection, and even freeze resistance down to -20°C — making it one of the most rugged foldables in its class. The foldable hinge is made from carbon fiber, and has reportedly been tested to endure up to 600,000 folds, ensuring long-term reliability.

Battery life also gets a boost. The phone packs a 6000mAh dual-cell battery that supports 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging, aiming to provide both longevity and convenience. vivo has also added a Shortcut Button to allow users to quickly access apps and functions without diving into menus — a useful addition to its multitasking capabilities.
Design-wise, the vivo X Fold5 keeps things slim and lightweight. It measures 9.2 mm when folded and just 4.3 mm when unfolded, with a total weight of 217 grams, making it one of the thinnest and lightest foldables on the market.

In the camera department, the phone is equipped with a 50MP primary camera using Sony’s IMX921 sensor, an ultra-wide 50MP lens, and a 50MP 3x telephoto camera with IMX882 sensor. For selfies and video calls, there are two 20MP front-facing cameras — one on the inner screen and another on the outer display.
Once launched, the vivo X Fold5 will be available for purchase via Flipkart and the vivo India online store. While the exact launch date hasn’t been revealed yet, the teasers indicate that the official announcement is just around the corner.
