Kia has revealed the Carens Clavis EV’s 490km range ahead of its India launch on July 15. The electric MPV offers three-row seating, premium features, and is expected to rival Creta EV.

Kia is gearing up to officially unveil the all-electric Carens Clavis on July 15, 2025. But ahead of the debut, the company has confirmed one of the most crucial details — the driving range. In a teaser video shared across its social media platforms, Kia revealed that the Carens Clavis EV will offer a claimed range of 490km on a full charge.
This makes the upcoming electric MPV one of the most promising long-range EVs in its segment. Interestingly, it delivers 17km more range than the Hyundai Creta Electric’s 51.4kWh battery variant, despite offering three-row seating. Kia is also expected to offer a smaller 42kWh battery option in the lower variants, with a claimed range of around 390km.
Visually, the Carens Clavis EV stays true to its ICE counterpart with a largely identical exterior design. The electric version, however, receives subtle EV-specific changes such as tweaked front and rear bumpers, a reworked set of alloy wheels, and a front-mounted charging port. The suspension setup is also expected to be re-tuned to handle the added weight of the battery pack and electric drivetrain.
Inside, the cabin is likely to mirror the ICE version, featuring the same spacious layout and premium feel. A dual-tone dashboard is expected, with a new upholstery colour scheme to differentiate it slightly from the petrol-powered model. The 12.3-inch twin-screen setup—one for infotainment and one for instrumentation—will be carried over as well.
The teaser also gives us a glimpse at key features such as dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. A seven-seat configuration is confirmed, and Kia might also offer a six-seat layout with captain seats in the second row.
Based on the equipment seen in the ICE version, the Carens Clavis EV could be offered with features like front ventilated seats, powered driver’s seat with four-way adjustment, ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, air purifier, and a premium Bose audio system. On the safety front, it will likely include six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, vehicle stability management, ABS with EBD, and hill-start assist.

What remains to be seen is whether Kia will equip the higher variants of the EV with Level 2 ADAS, as seen in the top trims of the ICE model. The ADAS suite on the ICE version includes 20 autonomous safety features, and it’s likely Kia will extend similar functionality to the electric version.
Full details will be revealed at its official launch on July 15. Stay tuned.
