Hero MotoCorp’s EV division, Vida, has expanded its electric scooter lineup in India with the launch of the all-new Vida VX2. First seen as the Vida Z at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year, the VX2 is now officially on sale and marks a significant addition to Vida’s growing electric mobility portfolio.

The Vida VX2 is being offered in two variants — Go and Plus — with prices starting at ₹99,490 and ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory) respectively. Notably, the VX2 is the brand’s first model to support Hero’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. With this subscription-based battery rental option, the starting price drops significantly, bringing the VX2 Go to ₹59,490 and the Plus to ₹64,990 (ex-showroom). This makes the VX2 one of the most accessible electric scooters currently in the market with flexible ownership models.

In terms of design, the VX2 adopts a more traditional look compared to the sharper, angular styling of the V2 series. It closely resembles the earlier showcased Vida Z, featuring the same LED lighting signature and a more commuter-friendly single-piece stepped seat instead of the split-seat setup seen on the V2 models.

When it comes to features, both VX2 variants are well-equipped. The VX2 Go gets a 4.3-inch LCD screen, while the Plus variant comes with a 4.3-inch TFT display. Both offer smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation and other connected functions. Ride modes are also available — Eco and Ride on the Go, with the Plus variant getting an additional Sport mode.

The scooter is built on the same platform as the V2 series and is powered by a direct-drive permanent magnet motor producing 8.04 bhp. The VX2 Go variant uses a single 2.2kWh removable battery, offering a claimed IDC range of 92 km and a top speed of 70 kmph. The Plus variant, on the other hand, uses a dual-battery setup with a combined 3.4kWh capacity, delivering an IDC range of 142 km and a top speed of 80 kmph. Acceleration figures are impressive too — 0 to 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds for the Go and just 3.1 seconds for the Plus.

Practicality has been kept in mind as well. The VX2 Go offers a spacious 33.2-litre underseat storage, while the Plus, due to its dual batteries, provides slightly less at 27.2 litres.

With the VX2, Hero MotoCorp finally moves beyond the Vida V2 lineup and steps into a broader product strategy. The new electric scooter is expected to compete with rivals like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather 450, and the Ola S1 range, all of which are currently jostling for space in the fast-growing urban electric scooter segment.
