vivo has confirmed the launch of the X Fold5 in India on July 15, featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a 50MP triple camera setup, 6000mAh battery, and a durable carbon fiber hinge tested for 600,000 folds.

vivo has officially confirmed that it will launch its latest foldable smartphone, the vivo X Fold5, in India on July 15, 2025, alongside the vivo X200 FE. With a focus on design refinement, performance, and durability, the X Fold5 is shaping up to be vivo’s most advanced foldable yet.
The company has revealed that the X Fold5 will carry IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance, along with an IP5X rating for dust protection, ensuring solid durability in daily use. vivo is also claiming –20°C freeze resistance, making the device resilient in extreme temperatures.
One of the key highlights is its Carbon Fiber Support Hinge, tested to withstand 600,000 folds, which reflects a strong emphasis on long-term usability. The hinge allows the phone to remain slim and lightweight, measuring just 9.2mm when folded and an ultra-slim 4.3mm when unfolded, with a weight of 217 grams.

The vivo X Fold5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, promising top-tier performance. In terms of cameras, it features a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor with an f/1.57 aperture and OIS, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP 3x telephoto camera using a Sony IMX882 sensor. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 20MP front-facing camera on both the inner and outer displays.

Battery performance is another standout, with a 6000mAh dual-cell battery supporting 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging. vivo is also introducing a new Shortcut Button that allows users to instantly access apps or trigger functions, enhancing the multitasking experience.
Once launched, the vivo X Fold5 will be available via Flipkart and vivo India’s official online store, and more details including pricing are expected to be announced during the official unveiling.
