Citroën C5 Aircross 2025 debuts with bold new styling, expanded dimensions, and electric powertrain options. Built on the STLA Medium platform, it offers improved cabin space, advanced tech, and EV ranges up to 679 km.

Citroën has taken the wraps off the all-new C5 Aircross, its second-generation model that introduces electric power for the first time in the nameplate’s history. Built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, the updated C5 Aircross features a bold, concept-inspired design and is set to become the flagship of Citroën’s growing SUV portfolio.
Larger Dimensions and Enhanced Cabin Space
Measuring 4,652 mm in length, the new C5 Aircross is 150 mm longer than its predecessor. It also gains a 600 mm stretch in wheelbase, significantly improving rear seat space. Citroën claims rear passengers now get 51 mm more knee room and 68 mm of added headroom, offering a cabin experience close to that of a “living room.” Boot space has increased to 651 litres, expandable to 1,668 litres with the rear seats folded. A 75-litre underfloor compartment provides space to store the EV charging cable.
Interior Features and Technology
The cabin follows Citroën’s ‘C-Zen Lounge’ theme, with a dashboard design influenced by home furniture. Key highlights include foam-padded fabric trim, ambient lighting in eight colour options, and a floating-style touchscreen infotainment display—Citroën’s largest yet. The system offers programmable widgets, fixed bars for navigation and climate controls, and voice assistance powered by ChatGPT through the ‘Hello Citroën’ interface.
A 10-inch digital instrument cluster is standard, while a larger head-up display is optional. The front seats now get added padding and new upper sections that wrap around the shoulders. Electric side bolsters and reclining rear backrests enhance passenger comfort, along with USB-C ports and cupholders in the rear.
Powertrains: EV, Hybrid and Mild-Hybrid Options
For the first time, the C5 Aircross is available as a fully electric vehicle. Two battery packs are on offer: a 73 kWh unit with a 520 km range (WLTP), and a 97 kWh version offering up to 679 km. Both use front-mounted electric motors producing either 207 bhp or 227 bhp.
The plug-in hybrid variant combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a 123 bhp electric motor and a 21 kWh battery, offering a combined output of 193 bhp and an electric-only range of up to 85 km. A 1.2-litre three-cylinder mild-hybrid setup is also available, featuring a 0.9 kWh battery paired with a dual-clutch transmission.
Launch Timeline and Expected Pricing
The new C5 Aircross is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2025. While official pricing has not been revealed, Citroën is expected to price it below the Peugeot 3008. Hybrid models may start under £35,000, with electric versions expected around £40,000.
