Kawasaki continues its MY25 rollout by updating one of its most versatile adventure tourers, the Versys 650. After recently updating the Ninja 650, Ninja 500, and Eliminator 500, the Japanese brand has now introduced the 2025 Versys 650 in India. Along with a new BS6 Phase 2 OBD2B-compliant engine and a revised price tag of Rs 7.93 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated model gets a few noteworthy upgrades like a 4.3-inch TFT meter with Bluetooth connectivity, an adjustable windscreen for better wind protection, LED lighting, and Kawasaki’s advanced KTRC traction control.

New Emission Norms and Price Update

The 2025 Versys 650 is now compliant with BS6 P2 OBD2B norms, effective from April 1, 2025. This update brings with it a slight price hike—now priced at Rs 7.93 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 16,000 more than the previous MY24 model. While the older model has been taken off Kawasaki’s official website, it might still be available at select dealerships with discounts of up to Rs 20,000.

While the core design remains unchanged, Kawasaki has introduced a new Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray colour. This replaces the earlier two-tone shades—Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Matte Dark Gray. The new shade blends grey and black with subtle green accents to add a sporty yet understated vibe.

Powertrain and Performance

The engine retains its 649cc parallel-twin setup, liquid-cooled and tuned to deliver 66 bhp and 61 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features a slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts. This update is focused on meeting emission standards without compromising the bike’s touring-friendly performance.

Features and Ride Enhancements

The Versys 650 continues to offer rider-friendly features like:

  • Adjustable windscreen for enhanced wind protection
  • LED lighting including dual headlights and turn indicators
  • 4.3-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity
  • KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) with two selectable modes
  • Economical Riding Indicator for fuel-efficient trips

Kawasaki’s Rideology App adds smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access ride data, manage notifications, and customize display settings directly from their device.
