Kia Carens 2025 model launching on May 6 with refreshed design, upgraded features, Level 2 ADAS, and enhanced cabin experience.

Kia made a strong entry into the affordable MPV segment with the launch of the Carens in India back in 2022. Over the past three years, it has steadily grown in popularity, becoming one of the top choices for Indian families. Now, with a product refresh on the horizon, Kia is preparing to launch the updated 2025 Carens on May 6, as confirmed by NDTV Auto. Meanwhile, the model has achieved a significant sales milestone, crossing 200,000 units sold in just 36 months, further strengthening Kia’s footprint in the market.
200,000+ Units Sold in Record Time
Announced on March 7th, 2025, Kia revealed that the Carens has surpassed the 2 lakh sales milestone in India. This makes it one of the fastest-selling vehicles in its segment. The MPV has resonated with families seeking a mix of comfort, style, technology, and space.
- Petrol variants accounted for 58% of the total sales, while diesel variants made up 42%.
- Automatic and iMT variants were chosen by 32% of buyers, showing a growing preference for convenient drivability.
- 28% of customers opted for sunroof-equipped variants.
- A massive 95% of sales came from 7-seater models, confirming the Carens’ identity as a true family vehicle.
- The top-end variants, packed with features like Kia Connect, multi-drive modes, ventilated seats, and a sunroof, made up 24% of total sales.
Adding to its domestic success, 24,064 units of the Carens have been exported to over 70 countries, reinforcing Kia’s commitment to delivering global-standard products.

Design
The upcoming 2025 Carens is set to receive several design enhancements. The front fascia will showcase a refreshed look featuring vertically-oriented headlamps, redesigned bumpers, and new grille elements. While the overall body silhouette remains familiar, the model will sport new alloy wheels and an updated rear profile for a more modern appeal.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Carens will come with an updated cabin layout. Expect a larger infotainment screen, a revised instrument cluster, and potentially feature carryovers from the Syros or Seltos. Premium features such as ventilated second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a richer tech suite are expected to be part of the update.
Level 2 ADAS: Safety Gets Smarter
The 2025 Carens will mark the arrival of Level 2 ADAS in the MPV, featuring:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Lane Keep Assist
- Blind Spot Collision Warning
- And more
These safety enhancements have been seen in the Sonet, Seltos, and Syros and will now extend to the Carens, making it safer and smarter for Indian roads.

Engine & Transmission Options: No Changes Expected
Kia will continue offering the current set of powertrains:
- 1.5-litre TGDi petrol
- 1.5-litre DPFi petrol
- 1.5-litre diesel
Transmission options will include a 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT, 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic.
Expected Pricing and Rivals
With all the upgrades in place, a price hike is expected. Currently, the Carens starts at Rs 10.60 lakh (ex-showroom). It continues to rival other popular MPVs in the segment like the Maruti XL6, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, and more.
