MG Motor India is gearing up to introduce a new top-spec variant of the Windsor EV, dubbed the Windsor EV Pro, with the launch scheduled for May 6, 2025. The company has released a teaser revealing key updates across six areas including powertrain, features, design, and cabin enhancements.

Key Changes and Features

The Windsor EV Pro will feature a larger 50.6kWh battery pack, replacing the current 38kWh unit. This upgrade is expected to increase the driving range to around 460 km (CLTC cycle), aligning with its global counterpart, the Wuling Cloud EV. Power output remains at 136PS and 200Nm, delivered through a single motor setup.

The teaser also confirms the addition of ADAS features with a front radar visible in the video. New alloy wheel designs are expected, along with a powered tailgate and a powered co-driver seat, enhancing overall convenience. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function has also been showcased, allowing the EV to power external devices.

The existing feature list will be retained, including a 15.6-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, a fixed glass roof, 256-colour ambient lighting, and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system.

Safety Highlights

In addition to ADAS, the safety suite will include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ESC, hill start and descent control, rear parking sensors, TPMS, and auto hold with electronic parking brake.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Windsor EV Pro is likely to be priced around Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it above the current range, which is priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh depending on the battery ownership model. It will rival the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 in the electric SUV space.

Apart from the Windsor EV Pro, MG also plans to launch the Majestor—a top-spec version of the Gloster—and the M9 electric MPV and Cyberster electric sportscar, which will be sold exclusively via MG Select dealerships.
