Suzuki has launched the 2025 GSX-8R in India at ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) with OBD-2B emission compliance. No changes in features or price; continues with 776cc engine and three colour options.

Suzuki has updated its GSX-8R middleweight sports tourer for 2025 to comply with the latest OBD-2B emission norms. Despite this regulatory upgrade, the motorcycle retains its ex-showroom price of ₹9.25 lakh (Delhi) and remains mechanically unchanged, offering the same performance and features as before.
The GSX-8R is still available in three colour options: Metallic Matte Black No.2, Metallic Triton Blue, and Metallic Matte Sword Silver. Its visual appeal remains intact, with the bike continuing to feature a sharp, aerodynamic design, vertically stacked hexagonal LED headlamps, clip-on handlebars, and a sleek fairing that contributes to its sporty, nose-down stance.
Underneath, the GSX-8R continues to be powered by a 776cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 83hp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of torque at 6,800rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features a bi-directional quickshifter for smoother gear changes. The 270-degree crankshaft gives it a V-twin-like character, while Suzuki’s Cross Balancer technology helps minimise engine vibrations.

Riders benefit from a suite of electronics, including a ride-by-wire throttle system, three riding modes, three levels of traction control, low-RPM assist, and dual-channel ABS. Suspension duties are handled by Showa SFF-BP upside-down forks at the front and a linked monoshock with preload adjuster at the rear. Braking is managed by dual radial-mount calipers and 310mm front discs, with a single disc at the rear.
Tyres remain Dunlop RoadSport 2 radials mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels. With this setup, the GSX-8R is positioned as a more touring-friendly option compared to the more aggressive supersport bikes in the segment.
Key rivals to the GSX-8R in the Indian market include the Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and the Aprilia RS 660.
Commenting on the update, Deepak Mutreja, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., said, “The OBD-2B update on the GSX-8R enhances its performance with improved emission monitoring, keeping it aligned with the latest regulatory requirements. This ensures that customers continue to enjoy a refined and responsive riding experience that also meets evolving environmental standards.”
The 2025 Suzuki GSX-8R is now available at authorised Suzuki big bike dealerships across the country.
