Triumph Motorcycles has launched the 2025 Speed Triple 1200 RS in India, with prices starting at ₹20.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Announced alongside the updated Trident 660, the new Speed Triple RS brings mechanical tweaks, added features, and slight performance improvements over its predecessor.

At the core of the update is the familiar 1,160cc, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which has now been fine-tuned to produce 183hp and 128Nm of torque — a modest increase of 3hp and 3Nm compared to the previous model. This extra power comes courtesy of a revised, freer-flowing exhaust system. The engine continues to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

In terms of performance hardware, Triumph has added a steering damper as standard equipment, addressing a key rider feedback area. The 2025 model now tips the scales at 199kg, a slight 1kg increase, while benefitting from new, lighter wheels that reduce unsprung mass and improve agility. The Speed Triple also now runs on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres, replacing the earlier Metzeler Racetec RR units, but the tyre sizes remain unchanged at 120/70-ZR17 (front) and 190/55-ZR17 (rear).

The suspension setup continues to feature fully adjustable Öhlins units, with 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a rear monoshock, both equipped with the SmartEC3 system and OBTi (Objective Based Tuning Interface). Braking duties are handled by 320mm twin front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 220mm rear disc with Brembo twin-piston calipers.

As for electronics, the bike retains its 5-inch TFT display and a suite of rider aids, including five riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and Rider), cornering ABS, traction control, and cruise control. Notably, Triumph has improved wheelie control, which can now be adjusted independently of traction control — a key refinement over the older model. Features like front wheel lift control, brake slide control, and engine braking control continue to be part of the package.

The Speed Triple 1200 RS is available in three colour options – all-black, grey with red accents, and grey with yellow detailing. The new price represents a hike of ₹2.44 lakh over the outgoing version, but despite this, it still undercuts rivals like the Ducati Streetfighter V4 (₹24.62 lakh to ₹28 lakh) and KTM 1390 Super Duke R (₹22.96 lakh), making it the most affordable European supernaked currently on sale in India.
