The 2026 Honda CR-V is arriving this spring with major updates, including more standard technology across the lineup and a new TrailSport Hybrid trim that enhances off-road capabilities without compromising the CR-V’s everyday appeal.

New TrailSport Hybrid Joins the Lineup

For the first time, Honda is offering the CR-V TrailSport with its two-motor hybrid-electric system. Positioned among the four hybrid trims—Sport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, TrailSport Hybrid, and the top-end Sport Touring Hybrid—the TrailSport adds rugged design, trail-ready tires, and standard all-wheel drive. Honda’s enhanced traction management system now improves performance on uneven terrain by adjusting torque and braking to improve grip, particularly at low speeds.

The TrailSport Hybrid also introduces exclusive features like all-terrain Continental CrossContact ATR tires on unique Shark Gray 18-inch wheels, a more rugged front fascia, blacked-out trim elements, and orange TrailSport badging. Inside, the TrailSport branding continues with logo-embroidered headrests, all-season rubber floor mats, and amber ambient lighting.

More Standard Tech Across the Board

All 2026 CR-V models now come with a larger 9-inch HD touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless phone charger as standard equipment. Higher trims—including EX-L, Sport-L, TrailSport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid—also gain a new 10.2-inch full-digital instrument display, offering customizable information like Honda Sensing® settings and vehicle diagnostics.

The Sport Touring Hybrid trim introduces a first for the CR-V: Google built-in. This feature offers apps like Google Assistant and Google Maps with a complimentary 3-year unlimited data plan.

Design and Powertrain Updates

The CR-V lineup continues to offer a mix of turbocharged and hybrid powertrains. The LX, EX, and EX-L trims feature a 1.5-liter turbo engine, while hybrid models are powered by Honda’s fourth-generation two-motor hybrid-electric system. Producing 204 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of torque, this hybrid setup provides both performance and efficiency.

Hybrid models also feature bolder exterior styling, including larger wheels and stainless steel exhaust finishers, while the Sport Touring Hybrid sits atop the range with 19-inch wheels and added visual enhancements.

A new “Individual” drive mode on the Sport Touring Hybrid lets drivers customize settings like throttle response and steering feel, adding to the SUV’s versatility.

Built for Safety

The 2026 CR-V comes standard with the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assist technologies. This includes features such as blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, and road departure mitigation. Every CR-V is equipped with 10 airbags, including next-generation front airbags designed to reduce head rotation in certain types of collisions.

Expected Arrival in Global Markets

While the 2026 Honda CR-V has been officially revealed for North America, its entry into other markets, including India, is expected at a later date. Honda has not yet confirmed a launch timeline for international regions, but the updated features and new TrailSport Hybrid variant suggest a strong global appeal.
