Land Rover has taken the wraps off the 2026 Discovery Sport, introducing a more dynamic exterior, updated interiors, and two new trims – Landmark and Metropolitan. The refreshed SUV continues to build on the Discovery Sport’s strong global presence, with an India launch expected by early 2026.

Sharper Looks and Trim Updates

The new model year brings significant visual updates. The entry-level variant has been renamed to Dynamic S, which now features gloss black treatments on the grille, wheel arches, bumpers, and body cladding. It also gets a digital instrument cluster, paddle shifters, and a curved 11.4-inch touchscreen running Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro system, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

Replacing the Dynamic SE and HSE trims are two special editions:

  • Landmark Edition – This variant celebrates the Discovery nameplate’s 35-year journey. It features a mountain range logo on the treadplates and puddle lights, a panoramic glass roof, roof rails, ‘Click & Go’ tablet holders, and a 3D surround-view camera system. It aims to offer practicality along with a nod to the brand’s heritage.
  • Metropolitan Edition – The top-spec trim brings a luxury-oriented approach. It gets 20-inch diamond-turned alloy wheels, silver-finished grille and skid plates, and Metropolitan-branded tread plates. Inside, highlights include 14-way electrically adjustable heated and cooled Windsor leather seats, a 650W 14-speaker Meridian sound system, Clearsight digital rear-view mirror, and Cabin Air Purification Plus for added comfort.

New Lifestyle Accessory Packs

For added versatility, Land Rover is also offering a new range of curated accessory packs aimed at enhancing everyday practicality and adventure-readiness. Three themed packages—Beach Days, Road Trip, and Snow Days—have been introduced to help owners tailor their SUV to specific lifestyle needs.

Powertrain and Hybrid Options

Mechanically, the 2026 Discovery Sport remains unchanged. It continues with Ingenium petrol and diesel engines, available with either mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology. The PHEV setup pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor and a 15kWh battery, delivering 265 bhp and offering up to 58 km of electric-only driving range.

Diesel buyers can choose between two versions of the 2.0-litre Ingenium engine – making 161 bhp or 201 bhp – both paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system that improves stop-start performance. All versions come with four-wheel drive as standard.

Price and India Launch Timeline

In the UK, the new Discovery Sport range starts at £45,440, a modest increase of £900 over the outgoing model. The Landmark Edition is priced at £49,100, while the premium Metropolitan Edition starts at £55,885, offered only with the higher-output diesel or PHEV powertrains.

While Land Rover hasn’t announced an official date, the updated Discovery Sport is expected to arrive in India sometime in early 2026.
