All-New Toyota RAV4 Debuts: Next-Gen Hybrid, Advanced Tech, and Sporty GR SPORT Variant

Toyota has unveiled the all-new sixth-generation RAV4, marking a fresh chapter for its popular SUV that balances rugged capability with modern sophistication. This latest RAV4 brings a host of improvements in performance, technology, and safety, aimed at enhancing the driving experience both on and off the road.

The new RAV4 features a robust exterior that balances urban sophistication with off-road readiness. Its strong front grille, muscular lines, and dynamic silhouette give the SUV a confident stance. The redesigned front fascia is more aggressive, highlighted by Toyota’s new “functional matrix” grille design on sportier trims, giving it a distinctive road presence.

Despite these updates, the dimensions remain similar to the previous generation, ensuring familiar maneuverability and space. The RAV4’s exterior style reflects its true SUV heritage — ready for both city streets and rugged terrain.

Under the hood, the headline is Toyota’s next-generation plug-in hybrid system. This new setup features a larger 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery that boosts the electric-only driving range to an impressive 100 km (WLTP combined). Charging speeds have also improved significantly with a 50 kW DC fast charger option, enabling an 80% charge in around 30 minutes, while an 11 kW AC charger can fully charge the battery in just three hours. This plug-in hybrid system delivers 304 DIN hp with an intelligent all-wheel-drive setup, allowing the RAV4 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.

For those who prefer traditional hybrid technology, Toyota also offers a full hybrid variant of the RAV4, available with both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. These models feature improved motor output and enhanced efficiency, delivering up to 191 DIN hp on the AWD trim and 183 DIN hp on the FWD version.

Toyota hasn’t held back on tech either. The new RAV4 debuts Toyota’s Arene software platform, which powers advanced safety features and a completely revamped multimedia system. Drivers get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an intuitive new 12.9-inch touchscreen home screen designed for simplicity and customization. Safety technology gets a big upgrade too, with enhanced Toyota Safety Sense features including Front Cross Traffic Alert, improved Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist with steering support, and a Secondary Collision Brake system for added peace of mind. Remote-controlled parking and a 3D Panoramic View Monitor also make maneuvering easier and safer.

Toyota also introduces the sportier RAV4 GR SPORT variant, which features several upgrades that enhance its driving dynamics and style. It comes with specially tuned suspension for a more engaging and responsive ride, giving drivers better control and a dynamic feel on the road. The GR SPORT rides on exclusive 20-inch black alloy wheels with a distinctive five-spoke design, adding to its aggressive stance.

Inside, the GR SPORT offers a sport-inspired cabin with unique touches such as aluminium brake and throttle pedals, console knee pads, and seats upholstered in synthetic leather and suede with red accents. Discreet GR logos throughout the interior enhance the racing-inspired atmosphere, making the cabin feel more focused and performance-oriented. These upgrades emphasize the GR SPORT’s connection to Toyota’s motorsport heritage, delivering a sportier driving experience without compromising comfort or practicality.
