Aston Martin becomes the first automaker to launch Apple CarPlay Ultra, debuting in the DBX and core sportscar lineup with full-screen integration, custom themes, and iPhone-powered controls.

Aston Martin has become the first car manufacturer to launch Apple’s new CarPlay Ultra, bringing a more integrated and personalised digital experience to its drivers. The next-generation system is debuting in the DBX SUV and the brand’s core sportscar lineup, including models like the Vantage, DB12, and Vanquish.
Deeper Integration Between Car and iPhone
Apple CarPlay Ultra enhances the standard CarPlay by expanding across both the central infotainment screen and the digital instrument cluster. It offers real-time access to maps, media, speed, and more — all with a user interface designed to feel familiar to iPhone users. Aston Martin has worked closely with Apple to ensure that the interface reflects the brand’s design language and delivers a seamless, premium experience.

Drivers can customise the digital layout by choosing different themes, dial styles, colours, and wallpapers. Car functions like climate control and audio can now be accessed directly through CarPlay Ultra using the touchscreen, physical buttons, or voice commands via Siri.

Personalisation and Control
The new setup allows for multi-screen customisation. Drivers can modify the instrument cluster and central display layout to show widgets powered by iPhone, such as weather, calendar, or media controls. Apple and Aston Martin also collaborated on a bespoke interface that reflects Aston Martin’s brand identity, including theme colours and styling.

CarPlay Ultra also introduces full control of vehicle functions like radio, ventilation, and even driving modes—all from the CarPlay interface.
Built on Aston Martin’s New Infotainment Platform

CarPlay Ultra is built on Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system, first introduced in 2023 with the launch of the DB12. The system was fully developed in-house and features a 10.25-inch Pure Black touchscreen with capacitive gesture support. It blends digital controls with traditional tactile buttons for core functions like gear selection, driving modes, and safety features.

Availability and Requirements
Initially, CarPlay Ultra is available as standard on all new orders of the DBX and core sportscar models in the USA and Canada. Existing vehicles with Aston Martin’s latest infotainment system will receive the update in the coming weeks through the brand’s dealership network.
The system requires an iPhone 12 or newer, running iOS 18.5 or later. A global rollout is expected over the next 12 months.
With this integration, Aston Martin positions itself at the forefront of connected car technology, blending luxury craftsmanship with high-tech features to deliver a more intuitive in-car experience.
