Aston Martin launches the DBX S, a new flagship SUV with 727PS, lighter construction, enhanced performance, and aggressive styling.

Aston Martin has officially unveiled the DBX S, the new range-topping version of its luxury SUV lineup. Positioned above the DBX707, the DBX S brings increased power, significant weight reduction options, and sharper styling.
Under the hood, the DBX S features a reworked 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 727PS and 900Nm of torque—20PS more than the DBX707. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph (311 km/h), with enhanced throttle response and an upgraded exhaust system that delivers a more aggressive engine note.
The DBX S comes equipped with a revised 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ automatic transmission, with faster shifts and improved downshifting behaviour in Sport and Sport+ drive modes. Power is distributed variably between the axles, including full rear-wheel torque delivery for dynamic handling.

Weight-saving options include a large single-piece carbon fibre roof that drops 18kg from the top of the vehicle, improving its centre of gravity. Magnesium wheels—offered for the first time in the SUV segment—cut an additional 19kg of unsprung mass. Combined with other components like a lightweight polycarbonate grille and carbon fibre body elements, the DBX S sheds up to 47kg compared to the DBX707.

The chassis receives a retuned steering setup with a faster ratio, reducing the turning circle and improving agility without sacrificing stability. Enhanced air suspension and electronic damping recalibrations help control body roll, which is limited to just 1.5 degrees during cornering. Stopping power comes from carbon ceramic brakes measuring 420mm at the front and 390mm at the rear.

Visually, the DBX S gets a new front grille with black vanes or an optional polycarbonate honeycomb pattern inspired by the DBS 770 Ultimate. A redesigned splitter, new side sills with functional air splitters, and vertically stacked quad exhaust tips at the rear give it a more aggressive stance. Signature ‘S’ badging on the fenders and new paint schemes for the lower body round out the exterior updates.

Inside, the DBX S features a bespoke ‘S’ theme with standard Alcantara upholstery, optional semi-aniline leather, and a herringbone seat design that extends into the headliner if the carbon roof is selected. The seats, treadplates, and engine plaque all carry ‘S’ branding. Aston Martin’s latest in-house infotainment system is standard, along with a 14-speaker 800W audio setup. For audiophiles, a 23-speaker, 1600W Bowers & Wilkins system is available.

Aston Martin has yet to reveal the official pricing for the DBX S. However, considering the 2025 DBX707 starts at roughly $260,000 (around ₹2.20 crore), the DBX S—especially in a fully loaded configuration—is expected to exceed the $300,000 mark (approx. ₹2.54 crore).
