Buick has unveiled the Electra GS Concept at the Auto Shanghai 2025, showcasing a bold electric future with sculptural design, luxury interiors, and cutting-edge technology.

Buick has pulled the covers off its latest concept car, the Electra GS, showcasing an exciting new direction for the brand in the electric era. Revealed at the Auto Shanghai 2025, the Electra GS hints at what future Buick electric vehicles could look and feel like — blending bold design, advanced technology, and a focus on luxury.
What’s immediately eye-catching about the Electra GS is its flowing, sculpted design. Buick says the look is inspired by a “Kinetic Sculpture” philosophy, aiming to capture the feeling of motion even while standing still. The concept draws inspiration from the mythical centaur, blending raw power and intelligence in its low-slung, wide stance and fluid surfaces.
“The Electra GS is more than a concept — it’s a design manifesto,” said Stuart Norris, Chief Design Officer at SAIC-GM and Vice President of GM China Design. He also added, “It’s a bold statement that Buick will continue its success in the electric era with sculptural dynamism, cutting-edge technology, and uncompromised sophistication.”
“In today’s connected world, where design and technology transcend borders, our team is proud to be shaping a global vision from China’s perspective,” said Norris. “The ELECTRA GS is just the beginning.”

The Electra GS measures 5,300 mm in length with a long 3,200 mm wheelbase, and rides on large 23-inch wheels. Up front, Buick has hidden signature “Reverse Checkmark” lighting elements into the sculpted bodywork, while a sharply contoured shark-nose grille gives the car an aggressive, futuristic feel.
Along the sides, the surfaces are shaped to catch and play with light and shadow, guided by a rising beltline and aerodynamic rocker panels. At the rear, floating roof rails blend into sculptural buttresses, merging a glass roof with an integrated spoiler for both style and aerodynamic function.

Inside, the Electra GS takes full advantage of GM’s electric platform, offering a completely flat floor and an open, expansive cabin. Four individual seats are wrapped in premium materials, while metallic accents and woven fabrics add a touch of modern luxury. The driver gets a futuristic setup featuring an augmented reality head-up display (HUD) and a sleek 16.3-inch ultra-wide screen, blending digital tech seamlessly into the elegant interior.
Although Buick has not confirmed whether the Electra GS will reach production, the concept signals the brand’s design and technology direction in the coming electric era.
