Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Gray Ghost Limited Edition celebrates 35 years of the iconic cruiser with a 1,917cc engine, unique PVD finish, retro design elements, and advanced safety features. Limited to 1,990 units globally.

Harley-Davidson has introduced a new limited-edition model – the Fat Boy Gray Ghost – to commemorate 35 years of the iconic Fat Boy. The bike pays homage to the original 1990 model and will be limited to just 1,990 units globally, marking the year the Fat Boy was first launched.
Design and Features
The Fat Boy Gray Ghost is part of Harley-Davidson’s Icons Motorcycle Collection and features a unique design inspired by the classic original. For the first time on a production motorcycle, Harley-Davidson has used Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) as the main surface finish. This metal-coating technique offers better protection against corrosion than traditional chrome.

The limited-edition model also includes several design elements that enhance its retro appeal. These include subtle yellow highlights on the cylinder heads, rounded air intakes, and a seat with laced leather, fringes, and tassels. The fuel tank retains its familiar shape but now features special medallions based on the original winged emblem from the early ’90s.

In terms of features, the Gray Ghost gets cruise control and a mix of analogue and digital instrumentation, with a classic speedometer and a digital display for fuel levels, trip data, and more. Rider comfort has also been considered, with an adjustable front brake lever for improved ergonomics.

Safety and Electronics
Harley-Davidson has equipped the Fat Boy Gray Ghost with a comprehensive suite of electronic safety features. These include a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, standard traction control, and drag-torque slip control. Together, these systems offer improved stability and control in various riding conditions.

Engine and Performance
Powering the Gray Ghost is a 1,917cc Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom engine, delivering 101bhp at 4,800rpm and 165Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission.

The chassis and hardware remain the same as the standard Fat Boy, with features like slotted wheels, telescopic front forks, single disc brakes, and a double-cradle steel frame. The riding triangle and stance are unchanged. Riders will have three modes to choose from – Rain, Road, and Sport.
Pricing and Availability
The Gray Ghost edition will be produced in a limited run of 1,990 units globally, adding to its appeal for collectors and enthusiasts. It is priced at USD 25,399, which roughly converts to around Rs 22 lakh in India (excluding import duties and taxes).
