Hero MotoCorp to launch two new budget-friendly Vida electric scooters on July 1, 2025, featuring removable batteries and new EV architecture. Aimed to compete with top EV brands.

Hero MotoCorp is set to expand its electric scooter lineup with the introduction of two new affordable models under its Vida brand. Announced during the company’s FY2025 earnings call, this move aims to strengthen Hero’s presence in the competitive budget segment of the electric two-wheeler market. The launch is scheduled for July 1, 2025.
Expanding the Vida Range
Currently, the Vida series features three variants — V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro — priced between Rs 74,000 and Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). These scooters offer three battery options: 2.2 kWh, 3.4 kWh, and 3.9 kWh. The upcoming models will be positioned below the existing variants, making the brand more accessible to a wider audience.
While Hero MotoCorp has not yet disclosed detailed specifications of the new scooters, reports indicate they will be built on a new EV platform called ACPD. Additionally, the design is expected to differ significantly from the current V2 and Z series.
New Marketing Push: ‘Charging Simple Hai’
Hero recently launched a new campaign named ‘Charging Simple Hai’ to promote the convenience of removable battery technology. The campaign emphasizes how users can charge the batteries using a common household 5-ampere electric plug, eliminating the need to find public charging stations.

With the Vida scooters featuring removable batteries, owners can easily charge them anywhere, anytime, without moving the entire scooter. This approach is aimed at addressing range anxiety and simplifying the ownership experience for electric scooter users.
Competing in the Growing EV Market
By introducing budget-friendly options in the Vida lineup, Hero MotoCorp intends to compete more aggressively with established electric scooter makers like TVS, Ola Electric, Bajaj Auto, and Ather Energy. The addition of new models will help Hero capture a larger share of the expanding electric two-wheeler market in the country.
