Honda has launched the new CB1000 Hornet SP in India, priced at ₹12.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). This litre-class naked motorcycle is being introduced in its higher-spec SP variant, and interestingly, it’s more affordable than several middleweight rivals on the market.

Powerful Engine, Loaded Features

The CB1000 Hornet SP is powered by a 999cc inline-four liquid-cooled engine, delivering 157hp at 11,000rpm and 107Nm at 9,000rpm. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

In terms of equipment, the SP variant features Showa USD front forks and a fully adjustable Öhlins monoshock at the rear. For braking, it gets twin 310mm front discs with radially mounted Brembo Stylema calipers, and a 240mm rear disc, offering strong stopping power.

New Styling, Premium Touches

Unlike the older CB1000R, the 2025 CB1000 Hornet SP ditches the Neo Sports Café styling. It now sports a more aggressive design, with a sharp LED headlamp that gives it a bold front profile. The motorcycle also rides on Bridgestone Battlax tyres, adding to its road performance.

It comes equipped with a 5.0-inch TFT instrument cluster offering smartphone connectivity for navigation, music, and call alerts—similar to what’s offered on the CB750 Hornet.

Electronic Rider Aids

As expected from a flagship naked, the CB1000 Hornet SP includes a solid electronics package. It offers five riding modes (Sport, Standard, Rain, and two custom modes), three levels of traction control, and standard quickshifter.

Availability and Rivals

Honda will retail the CB1000 Hornet SP exclusively through its BigWing Topline dealerships, located in select cities like Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in June 2025, and the bike will be available in limited numbers.

At this price, the CB1000 Hornet SP sits just below the Suzuki Katana (₹13.61 lakh) and even competes with middleweight machines like the Triumph Street Triple RS (₹11.81–12.07 lakh) and the Ducati Monster SP (₹15.95 lakh), offering a high-performance alternative with premium hardware and sharp pricing.
