Honda bids farewell to the Civic Type R in Europe with a limited-run Ultimate Edition. Only 40 units will be sold, featuring Championship White paint, red decals, carbon-fibre accents, and a commemorative gift box.

The Honda Civic Type R is reaching the end of its run in Europe, and to mark the occasion, the brand has introduced a special limited-run variant — the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition. Only 40 units of this commemorative version will be produced, making it a rare collector’s item and a fitting send-off for Honda’s legendary performance hatch.

This new edition is finished exclusively in Championship White and features unique red decals on the bonnet and sides, along with a gloss black roof and carbon fibre elements, including a rear wing and door sill garnishes. It carries forward the familiar aggressive design of the FL5 Civic Type R, with its wide stance, blacked-out accents, red Honda badging, bonnet vent, and triple-exhaust setup at the rear.

Inside, the cabin gets a few thoughtful upgrades. The Ultimate Edition gets carbon fibre on the centre console and door sills, ambient lighting across the cupholders, under the seats, and in the footwells, as well as a Type R logo projection when opening the front doors. Each of the 40 units will also be delivered with a custom gift box that includes a numbered emblem, carbon keyring, exclusive floor mats, and a car cover — a touch that adds to the special nature of this model.

However, there are no changes under the hood. The Ultimate Edition continues with the same 2.0-litre turbocharged VTEC engine producing 329hp and 420Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. This setup allows the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 275 kmph. Notably, this powertrain helped the FL5 Civic Type R become the fastest front-wheel drive car at the Nürburgring, clocking a lap time of 7:44.881.
