Hyundai has officially confirmed that it will introduce the Palisade Hybrid SUV in the Indian market by 2028. This move comes as part of the brand’s broader strategy to launch 26 new models in the country by 2030, underscoring its long-term commitment to the growing premium SUV segment.

The Palisade has already established itself in global markets as Hyundai’s flagship SUV, and its hybrid version is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in India’s premium three-row SUV category. For Indian buyers, Hyundai is expected to offer both seven- and eight-seat configurations, aligning with the global offering.

Internationally, the Palisade is powered by a 3.8-litre Atkinson-cycle V6 petrol engine producing 290PS and 353Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission featuring a multi-plate torque converter. However, the hybrid version, which is set for India, comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a front-wheel-drive setup as standard, with an all-wheel drive variant also available in some markets. Drive modes include Eco, Sport, and My Drive, along with terrain modes such as Mud, Snow, and Sand, catering to diverse driving conditions.

Inside the cabin, the Palisade offers a premium experience. It features soft-touch materials, chrome accents, and leather upholstery throughout. The dashboard houses a wide dual-display setup, consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Hyundai is expected to retain this tech-forward cabin for the Indian version.

Key features likely to be included are a four-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a large panoramic sunroof. The Palisade is known for its comfort-focused second-row captain seats, power-adjustable third-row seating, and USB-C ports across all three rows. Top variants come equipped with ventilated front and second-row seats, power folding for second and third rows, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and BlueLink connected car tech. Driver convenience is also well-covered with features like a head-up display and surround view monitor.

On the safety front, the Palisade brings a strong package. The U.S.-spec model includes advanced features such as blind-spot collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, ABS with disc brakes on all wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, traction control, vehicle stability management, and seven airbags. Hyundai is expected to offer a similarly comprehensive safety suite for the Indian version.

Unlike markets such as the U.S., where the Palisade is offered in multiple trims, Hyundai is likely to introduce a single, fully-loaded variant in India. This approach helps streamline homologation and inventory management.

When launched, the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid will go up against other premium three-row SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq. It is expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it firmly in the upper end of the segment.
