Kia Carens Clavis Unveiled with Level 2 ADAS; Bookings Open Tonight at ₹25,000

Kia India has taken the wraps off its latest MPV, the Carens Clavis, which arrives as a premium alternative to the existing Carens. The Clavis comes with updated styling, new features, and advanced safety tech. Bookings for the model will open at midnight, with a booking amount set at ₹25,000. Customers can place orders either through authorised Kia showrooms or the company’s official online platform.

Exterior Design

The design of the Carens Clavis is inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. At the front, it sports the brand’s Digital Tiger Face, flanked by Ice Cube-style MFR LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights. At the rear, it features new Starmap-style connected LED taillamps. Enhancing its visual appeal, the MPV rides on newly designed 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Interior and New Feature Additions

Inside, the Carens Clavis continues with a three-row seating layout. The second-row seats come with sliding and reclining functionality, along with a one-touch electric tumble mechanism for easier access. It also offers a segment-first walk-in lever for added convenience when entering the third row.

Among the highlights is a large 26.62-inch connected panoramic dual-display setup, comprising a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. The feature list includes a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system, seat-mounted air purifier, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. There is also a unique stop lamp setup integrated into the rear doors for added visibility and safety.

Engine Options and Variant Line-up

Kia is offering the Carens Clavis with three engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo petrol engine will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options, while the others are likely to follow standard gearbox configurations.

The Carens Clavis will be available in seven variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+. It will be offered in eight exterior colours—Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, and Clear White.

Advanced Safety with Level 2 ADAS

Safety is a key focus in the Carens Clavis. The model features a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package. This suite includes Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (including Direct Oncoming function), Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Blind View Monitor in the instrument cluster, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.

The MPV is also equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Rear Occupant Alert system, enhancing overall occupant safety.

Expected Price

With these updates, the Clavis is expected to be priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹22 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it above the current Carens lineup, which ranges from ₹10.59 lakh to ₹19.70 lakh.
