Kia Clavis MPV teased ahead of May 8 launch in India. Gets updated exterior, new LED lighting, ADAS features, and familiar engine options from the Kia lineup.

Kia India has officially teased its upcoming MPV, the Clavis, for the first time. Slated to make its debut on May 8, the new three-row vehicle is expected to be positioned above the Carens in the brand’s lineup, offering a more premium alternative while sharing several features and components.
Updated Styling and Design Elements

The teaser video showcases the Clavis navigating a forest trail, highlighting the use of ADAS 2.0 with forward collision warning. The MPV features a redesigned front fascia with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and triple-beam LED headlamps. A new silver exterior finish is also visible.
Key styling updates include a revised front grille with updated inserts, reworked front and rear bumpers, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and connected LED tail-lamps with a full-width light bar. Despite the design enhancements, the Clavis is expected to retain the overall dimensions and boot capacity of the Carens.
Upgraded Interior and Tech
Inside, the Clavis is likely to receive new seat upholstery and trim elements to reflect its premium positioning. The teaser hints at a digital instrument cluster similar to that in the Kia Seltos, along with a large touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Additional features could include automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, drive modes, and a comprehensive multi-information display.
Powertrain and Safety

The Clavis is expected to carry over the existing engine options from the Carens: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. Transmission choices are likely to include a six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, and a six-speed torque converter automatic.
Safety tech will be bolstered by Level 2 ADAS features, including Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Lane Following Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.
Set to Launch on May 8
The Clavis will be unveiled on May 8, 2025, and will be sold alongside the Carens in the domestic market. A fully electric version of the Clavis is also in development and is expected to arrive in the coming months.
More details, including pricing and full specifications, are likely to be revealed at the launch event.
