Mahindra BE Rall-E spied testing again in India. Based on BE 6, this rugged electric SUV could feature dual-motor AWD and bold design upgrades. Launch expected soon.
Mahindra’s electric SUV plans appear to be moving ahead as the BE Rall-E has been spotted testing once again on Indian roads. Originally introduced as a concept in February 2023, this rugged variant of the BE 6 is now being trialed in a production-ready form, suggesting that Mahindra may soon bring it to market.
A Tougher Version of BE 6
While the BE 6 itself is already one of the most bold-looking electric SUVs in Mahindra’s future lineup, the BE Rall-E adds an even more rugged and off-road-ready personality. Unlike typical concept-to-production transitions that involve only minor design changes, the Rall-E seems to be retaining much of its original concept styling while incorporating practical enhancements suited for off-road use.
In terms of front-end design, the SUV sports a revised fascia with continuous LED daytime running lights shaped like an eyebrow. Below these sit round projector headlamps, giving it a distinctive look. More importantly, a prominent bash plate is visible, suggesting this isn’t just a cosmetic upgrade but one meant for real-world functionality.

Mahindra BE Rall-E: Designed for the Rough Stuff
The BE Rall-E test vehicle features steel wheels—likely 17 inches in size—wrapped in all-terrain tyres, further underlining its off-road ambitions. Its higher ground clearance and improved approach angle compared to the standard BE 6 also point toward better capability on rough surfaces. One of the standout design elements is the large roof carrier, which adds to its adventure-ready image and makes it instantly distinguishable.

In these latest spy shots, the rear profile of the SUV has also been revealed. It features new LED tail lamps with a styling pattern that echoes the front DRLs, a design cue carried over from the concept. The charging socket remains positioned on the left rear fender, as seen on the BE 6, confirming that the Rall-E shares its underpinnings with its sibling. The interior hasn’t been revealed yet, but based on what we’ve seen in the BE 6, it may get a similarly athletic and tech-laden layout.

Could It Get Dual-Motor AWD?
Although Mahindra hasn’t disclosed specific powertrain details yet, it’s expected that the BE Rall-E will borrow its electric architecture from the BE 6. However, considering its off-road-focused nature, there’s a strong possibility of a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup—something the INGLO platform is fully capable of supporting. If that happens, we could see more performance and traction than the standard BE 6 offers.
If Mahindra decides to equip the BE Rall-E with a dual-motor AWD system, it would mark a significant upgrade in both power and handling capabilities. This setup would provide better traction on rough terrain, making the SUV more capable during off-road adventures. Such a configuration would also likely improve acceleration and overall driving dynamics compared to the single-motor rear-wheel-drive BE 6.
While the exact power figures and specifications are yet to be confirmed, the BE Rall-E’s focus on ruggedness and enhanced performance suggests it could deliver a more engaging driving experience for buyers seeking an electric SUV with serious off-road credentials.
What’s Next?
The BE Rall-E’s exact launch timeline hasn’t been revealed yet. Mahindra currently has a long list of EVs in the pipeline, including the upcoming XUV3XO EV (which will replace the XUV400) and the XUV700-based electric SUV known as XEV.e8. However, the fact that Mahindra has listed the BE Rall-E under the “Products” section of its official website—and not as a “Concept”—clearly indicates that this model is on its way for production.
