Mahindra XUV700 facelift spotted testing with production-ready headlights, new alloy wheels, and a triple-screen dashboard. Launch expected soon with same petrol and diesel engine options.

Mahindra’s popular flagship SUV, the XUV700, is headed for a mid-cycle update, and new spy shots now offer a clear look at what’s coming. While earlier test vehicles were seen with placeholder parts, the latest prototypes reveal production-ready headlights and redesigned alloy wheels, confirming that the facelift is entering its final stages of testing.
Up front, the facelifted XUV700 will sport a much sharper design. The newly spotted headlights are sleeker than before, with distinct chambers for high and low beams — possibly housing full LED projectors. While the DRL signature isn’t fully visible yet, it’s expected to be slimmer and more aggressive in line with Mahindra’s evolving design language. A new front bumper and grille design are also visible, giving the SUV a refreshed face. One test mule even hints at fog lamps with possible cornering functionality, adding a touch of practicality to the styling changes.

Though the side and rear profiles appear mostly unchanged, Mahindra seems to be playing with new alloy designs. Two different patterns were spotted across test units, possibly indicating trim-wise differentiation or a split between FWD and AWD variants. Wheel sizes are likely to remain at 18 inches, but there’s speculation that a larger 19-inch option may be introduced — especially as rivals like Tata are offering them in this segment.

Inside the cabin, Mahindra appears to be taking a significant step forward. The most eye-catching update is the inclusion of a triple-screen dashboard layout, inspired by the tech setup in the Mahindra XEV 9e. This new layout blends a digital instrument cluster, a wide infotainment display, and an additional screen likely aimed at enhancing the front passenger’s experience — all working together to push the XUV700’s interior closer to luxury SUV standards.
Adding to the refreshed look is a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring a backlit Mahindra logo, again lifted from the brand’s upcoming electric SUV lineup. Subtle tweaks to the center console and air conditioning vents also suggest a cleaner, more modern layout. While Mahindra hasn’t revealed material upgrades just yet, the facelift is expected to bring improved upholstery and trim finishes, boosting the overall cabin ambience.

Under the hood, no mechanical changes are expected. The facelifted XUV700 will continue with its current engine lineup — the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing up to 197 bhp and 380 Nm, and the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel generating up to 182 bhp and 450 Nm. Transmission choices will include both manual and automatic gearboxes, along with optional AWD for select trims.
While Mahindra has yet to confirm a launch timeline, the test mules’ advanced state suggests the official debut may not be far off.
