Mercedes-Benz has introduced a highly exclusive version of its iconic AMG G 63 SUV in the Indian market — the Collector’s Edition — priced at ₹4.3 crore (ex-showroom). What makes this launch special is that it’s the first-ever India-inspired AMG G 63, limited to only 30 units, and available exclusively to existing Mercedes-Benz top-end vehicle owners.

India-Inspired Design and Personalisation

Developed in collaboration between Mercedes-Benz India and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), the Collector’s Edition pays tribute to Indian elements, especially the monsoon season. This inspiration is clearly reflected in the two unique paint options under the brand’s Manufaktur programme — Mid Green Magno (symbolising lush Indian greenery during monsoons) and Red Magno (inspired by the country’s rich, red soil).

The SUV stands apart visually with:

  • A ‘One of Thirty’ badge on the rear-mounted spare wheel cover
  • Bespoke side protection cladding with exclusive detailing
  • 22-inch AMG wheels finished in striking Tech Gold

Inside the cabin, the exclusivity continues with a dual-tone Manufaktur Nappa leather upholstery in Catalana Beige and Black, paired with open-pore natural walnut wood trim on the dashboard. In a first for Indian buyers, the passenger grab handle comes engraved with the owner’s name, adding a personal touch that underscores its bespoke appeal.

Performance: No Changes Under the Hood

Mechanically, the Collector’s Edition retains the same powerhouse setup as the standard AMG G 63:

  • 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine
  • Paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology
  • Delivers 585hp and 850Nm of torque, with an added 22hp boost from the mild-hybrid system
  • Mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox
  • Equipped with Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive system
  • 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds

Despite no mechanical changes, the limited-edition model continues to impress with its brute performance and commanding road presence.

As part of Mercedes-Benz’s Top-End Vehicle (TEV) strategy, the G 63 Collector’s Edition will not be available to the general public. Only existing customers of Mercedes’ premium and luxury models are eligible to purchase it.

This move aligns with the brand’s ongoing focus on luxury personalisation. In fact, Mercedes says India has one of the highest adoption rates for Manufaktur customisations globally. The popularity of the G-Class in India has led to dedicated spaces like the ‘G Corner’ in its flagship showroom in Delhi.
