Mercedes-Benz has brought the AMG GT nameplate back to India with the launch of two high-performance coupes — the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ and the more extreme GT 63 Pro 4MATIC+. Priced at ₹3 crore and ₹3.65 crore (ex-showroom) respectively, both models mark the return of the AMG GT range after nearly three years and are part of the brand’s broader plan to launch eight new models in 2025.

Powering both coupes is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, hand-built as per AMG tradition. While the GT 63 produces 585hp and 800Nm, the GT 63 Pro takes it up a notch with 612hp and 850Nm. Both use the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission and come equipped with 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive and Drift Mode. Performance figures are equally impressive: the GT 63 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, while the GT 63 Pro manages it in 3.1 seconds when equipped with CUP tyres. Top speeds are rated at 315 km/h and 317 km/h, respectively.

In terms of driving tech, both variants get AMG Active Ride Control suspension, rear-axle steering, dynamic engine mounts, and a front axle lift system with GPS memory. An AMG Electronic Limited Slip Differential and active rear wing further help sharpen performance. The Pro version is kitted out with carbon-ceramic brakes, AMG Carbon Exterior Package, and a full AMG Aerodynamics Package, which helps generate additional downforce above 100 km/h.

Dimensionally, the new GT 63 is now larger than the outgoing model. It measures 4,728mm in length, 1,984mm in width, and 1,354mm in height, with a 2,700mm wheelbase, making it more practical with a larger boot and a 2+2 seating layout — a first for the AMG GT coupe. Despite retaining its iconic silhouette, the updated model features a new headlamp design, redesigned wheels, and a more aggressive spoiler setup.

Inside the cabin, the GT 63 range retains Mercedes-Benz’s familiar premium design language. Both cars feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with a new-generation AMG steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather or carbon fibre, depending on the variant. The GT 63 Pro additionally gets performance seats with climate control and multicontour support as standard — optional on the regular GT 63. A Burmester 3D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos enhances the overall in-cabin experience.
