Ola Roadster X Electric Motorcycle Deliveries to Start from May 23: Full Details Inside

Ola Electric has officially confirmed that deliveries for its first electric motorcycle, the Roadster X, will begin from May 23, 2025. The announcement was made through a video posted on the brand’s social media channels, confirming that the bikes will start arriving at dealerships by the end of this week.

The deliveries come over a month after production had already started. The delay appears to be connected to dealership-related issues, as several Ola showrooms were reportedly found operating without valid trade certificates. These outlets were part of Ola’s rapid expansion strategy last year, but the plan faced setbacks due to regulatory scrutiny.

First Phase Begins in Bengaluru

In a shift from its usual rollout strategy, Ola will initially begin deliveries of the Roadster X in a phased manner, starting with Bengaluru. By limiting the initial batch to a single region, Ola aims to better monitor early feedback and resolve any issues that may arise in the first few units.

Variants, Battery Options, and Pricing

The Ola Roadster X is positioned as a commuter-focused electric motorcycle and will be offered in three battery variants:

  • 2.5 kWh variant: Priced at ₹84,999, with a claimed range of 140 km.
  • 3.5 kWh variant: Priced at ₹1,04,999, with a claimed range of 196 km.
  • 4.5 kWh variant: Priced at ₹1,24,999, offering a claimed range of 252 km.
    (All prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru.)

The Roadster X is powered by an 11 kW electric motor, and real-world range varies depending on the battery option. Ola claims performance suitable for daily commuting, making it a rival to traditional 100-125cc petrol motorcycles.

Features and Technology

Ola has equipped the Roadster X with a solid set of features. The bike includes:

  • Riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • 4.3-inch LCD display
  • Full-LED lighting
  • Single-channel ABS
  • Brake-by-wire system
  • Reverse mode

Buyers can choose from five color options: Ceramic White, Pine Green, Industrial Silver, Stellar Blue, and Anthracite. The Roadster X will compete with models like the Revolt RV400 and Oben Rorr in the electric commuter motorcycle segment. With rising interest in electric mobility, Ola is aiming to strengthen its position in the market, where it currently ranks behind TVS but ahead of Bajaj in overall EV sales.

What’s Next?

In addition to the Roadster X, Ola has plans to expand the lineup further with the Roadster and Roadster Pro models. Notably, the Roadster Pro is expected to carry a massive 16 kWh battery, with a claimed range of 579 km, the highest among any electric motorcycle made in the country so far — even more than the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2.
