Royal Enfield has officially confirmed the launch timeline for its first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6. The brand revealed during Eicher Motors’ recent earnings call that the electric bike will make its market debut in the fourth quarter of FY2026, between January and March 2026. Alongside the C6, another electric model, the S5, is also expected to join the lineup later in 2026.

Record Sales for Royal Enfield

During the same quarter, Royal Enfield recorded its highest-ever quarterly sales, delivering 2,80,801 units in Q4 FY25—a year-on-year growth of 23.2%. The brand also crossed a major milestone by selling over one million units in a fiscal year for the first time, closing FY25 with 10,02,893 units.

What to Expect from Flying Flea

The electric lineup from Royal Enfield will be introduced under a new EV sub-brand named Flying Flea. The company’s CEO, B Govindarajan, stated that they have not yet decided whether to launch these electric motorcycles through their existing dealership network or opt for exclusive EV showrooms. However, there are no plans to spin off Flying Flea as a separate business entity.

In an interview with ET Auto, Govindarajan mentioned that although the product is ready and there is growing interest among customers for EVs, the current charging infrastructure is still catching up. Chief Growth Officer for Royal Enfield’s EV division, Mario Alvisi, echoed this sentiment in a conversation with Express Drives, highlighting that potential buyers are interested in a hassle-free, quiet electric motorcycle experience.

Flying Flea C6: Design and Features

Royal Enfield had first showcased the Flying Flea C6 at EICMA 2024 and later in Bengaluru. The bike combines a retro-styled design with modern technology. Key highlights include a circular headlamp, teardrop-shaped faux fuel tank, and a round TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation support.

The motorcycle is built on a forged aluminium chassis with a magnesium battery housing and features girder-type front forks, a nod to pre-1930s motorcycle design. The C6 also incorporates a hidden rear suspension, thin-profile wheels, and comes equipped with high-tech components like a Qualcomm processor.

A central Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) has been developed in-house and allows for over 200,000 ride mode configurations. The system also supports OTA (Over-The-Air) updates, offering improved integration and real-time performance tracking.

Variants and Safety

The FF-C6 will be available in single-seat and dual-seat configurations. Safety features include lean-angle sensitive ABS, while charging is made convenient with a standard 3-pin domestic plug. Despite the tech-heavy setup, the Flying Flea retains Royal Enfield’s classic visual identity.

More to Come

Following the Flying Flea C6’s launch in Q4 FY26, Royal Enfield plans to bring the S6 electric motorcycle to the market later the same year. The company has already filed 45 patents for new technologies that will likely power its electric lineup in the coming years.
